Most of my Wyoming trucks are tagged with Pioneer Tags. Vehicles with these tags must be 25+ years old and used only for shows, parades, etc. my 5 ton has Wyoming "Truck" tags which pretty much covers everything that resembles a truck. Does Nevada have a Pioneer style tag?
I paid $1300 for a stock '58 M211 and $3000 for a stock '54 XM211. Between the two of them I've got enough parts to build one complete truck... probably restore the 58. With what you have, I'd recommend getting the Dodge.
Finish it, absolutely! I'm finally in the position to begin work on my XM211 wo/w & M211 w/w. Your pictures give me hope that I'll finish mine someday.
It's interesting in pics 3 & 6, the running light/turn signal has square shaped shields. Were these common? My gun truck has the same shields on it and I've not seen any others.
Mine came from the Wyoming National Guard. At one time it was assigned to Camp Guernsey. While I was still on active duty I drove it all over Camp Guernsey.
Getting caught up. Dump truck remains on back burner for now. Gotta get the Toys For Tots truck ready for events. I'll try and get back to it once Christmas is over.
Time for some upgrades. Not as much as my ultimate goal but there's room for improvement. I found a source for the U.S. machine gun pedestal mount socket. If you want a secure mount for your gun mounts, this is one way to go. Very well built and fit the mount like a glove. Down side, I need to...
Moved the truck next to the shop today and tried to knock a few pounds of gack off with the pressure washer. Not real successful but I know which degreaser to use. Also started pulling off the front cap. If the weather holds, I should be able to get the old cab off.
The solution was too easy, with hndrsonj's leadership and a phone call, the problem was found to be dirty points contacts. A little filing with my very old point file, it started sparking. We put everything back together and she started right up. Woot, Woot!!
Today, after charging the battery overnight, I reinstalled the battery. I poured gas down into the carb and checked to make sure fuel was getting to the carb from the gas tank. I crossed my fingers and ... forgot to change out the spark plugs. So, changed the plugs and set the gap to .40. Not...
It's been a few weeks since my visit to Boyce Equipment. I want to pass on my thanks to Mark and Rene for all their help.
I've been looking for a spare tire carrier for my M52A2. I'd heard about Boyce but could never get the time to stop by. After a sad visit to Oregon, we were passing right...
I can't remember posting anything on the dump truck. So I'll start anew. Got the truck some time ago. Finally got the list weeded down to the point I can work on it. Today was day one on trying to get it started. It was converted to 12 volt some time in the past. I grabbed a battery from the...
I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. I found a source for resin M60's. I plan on having it up front for the driver or I'll use it as a bail out gun. My next upgrade will be adding a twin .50 mount in the back of the bed.
Frank, I haven't forgotten I need to send you a copy of the manual. I've been out of town due to a death in the family. Once I get back, I'll get it sent.
.50 mount
I FOUND IT!!! Here's the TM for the so-called equilibrator mount. TM 9-1005-245-13&P, Chapter 11, "6650 .50 CAL MACHINE GUN MOUNT". Let me know if you need a copy of this chapter. I can scan it in and send you a copy.
