OK, I agree, timing is not the problem.
But, following 63C20's theory, if what you are "burning" is coolant then it should at least smell like it, and you sure had to replenish the radiator already?

The tires maybe... but can you...?
After all your mods, would your stopping distance remain the same or even less than stock, from 55 mph down to zero? NO!

Usually when a MF head gasket failed you would have some visible signs like fluids running down on the outside of the engine(block). And you would have compression loss in one or maybe two cylinders but never affecting all 6 cylinders equally.
You say the red mark was where it should be, but...
So you think that the axles shifting sideways would reduce the wind-up and binding say during a 90º-turn, from both diffs. being connected with a driveshaft...?
From factory - on level ground - there is very little room for any side-to-side movement, or even back and forth...
See my post...
Good to know, thanks! And yes, that's correct.
Please also contact Ford Mechanic via PM; he's the one interested - and working-out the logistics, for this.

Sorry to hear! The pins I have checked are some good steel but not hardened; you could work on them with a good file. Which doesn't mean that there may be different batches out there...
Sounds to me that you may have to go the longer route now, pressing the stump all the way down and then fish...
Crate is 77"x 41.5"x 60" tall and two soldiers can eventually lift it, to load/unload on a pick-up truck.
Also lifting devices to put on truck may be on hand, at the yard and at the rally.

See my post #109, in this same thread...
In case you were interested - weight isn't so much a problem but that crate is kind of extra-bulky and I will be in a car, only. All depends if we can find anyone with enough room left, coming down on I-75, preferably on Tuesday, to carry this all the...
What is so difficult? Just loosen the bolts on one side first, jack it up about 1" on that side; pull out that sill and cut to correct shape. Reinstall and do the same on the other side.
The bed is built fairly rigid while the frame flexes more than what it seems! There is a reason for those...
I don't know about the 5-tons, but the original sills on the M35 are just as you said: the last 15 inches towards the front are cut to a taper, going from little over 3/4" straight down to 1/2"; some even less than that. The M109's are 1" thick and tapered on both ends, down to about 3/8".

Yup, identical! It's the last one of four I bought last year and I'm pretty sure we will find that that one has a "KE" written on it, somewhere on the bed...:)
What I don't know is if Derek has had time to pull that one trailer apart already, and if he had a scrap-"bin" large enough for parts...
Kenny, I might be able to help you out - if I knew exactly what you mean with "body"? Isn't the M116 just a flat-bed with two fenders?
What I have is a M116A3 (from which I basically need the axle, springs/brackets and tongue w/ lunnette.
