Make sure you get the cover plate gasket and start every bolt and fitting first before tightening any of them. You can do 99% of the job top side. And as easy as it is to remove Gen it sure beats having dirt and oil in your face. I have encountered a few that the 3/8 pump bolts were seized in...
Has anyone else had the red warning light on the front wheel hub come on. Nothing showing on the dash panel so wondering what it could possibly be.
It's not covered in the sticky notes or the TM. The flat tire is an easy fix. I'll check the wheel bearing once I get home. Take Care. Be Safe.
I would remove the speedometer cable from under the dash and try and hook the adapter to the cable while it is disconnected. Then if it goes together just snap the cable on the back of the speedometer. It's worth a try at this point.
Is that a vehicle specific speedometer cable? Or is it a non OEM generic replacement. If it is I think you are onto something. With a grinder I would grind a small section off the end and get that cable to fit snugly into the adapter. That is the answer I am sure. If it works it is fixed. But if...
On a quiet day in Tallinn, Estonia they say you can hear a CUCV rusting. Looks good I like it. I like stuff that looks a bit rough but functions like new. I had my Terminus M1009. I ran it like a stolen horse and maintained it like a new truck. Take Care.
I failed to report my progress on Friday. I was able to get the parts in primer and they are all back inside safe and sound. Next i need to get a good quality 3 M seam sealer and reseal all the edges. I think I am doing that correctly. Primer, seam sealer, sealer and top coat. Well next step...
I made a few of the hoses and they worked as long as the truck ran. They had to be a bit longer and make slighter curves but they worked. I also wrapped them with split loom to keep the kink out. Good Luck. Enjoy the Holiday.
Safety tip of the day. Disconnect all battery terminals on ALL VEHICLES before working on or near the electrical system. Even on a frozen lake ice fishing accidents do happen. This Tesla is toast. Long story on this one but the results are the same if you dead short the 24 volt.

I was looking at parts to rebuild a TH400. Just to look and get a real life price. I...
This was a full bag of 20 bushings. Enough to last a lifetime for most people. I changed many many door bushings over the years.
Some of these bushings in this picture are imports that I accumulated over the years. If they don't break they will work fine. I just found that they seem to be more...
Most times it is the top hinge that has the bad bushings. If the bottom bushings are tight there is no use in changing them. These top ones are scrap and worn out. I use a hammer to hit the pin upward. I actually use 2 hammers the one to stay aligned on the lower pin shaft. and hit it with...
Do as you wish. At this point I would NEVER go thru the trouble bolting in a used transmission and torque converter. The work and risk are not worth the effort. Get the transmission gone over and be sure it is in excellent condition. Once you do that overhaul you can drive on with the confidence...
Take a tin can or a piece of aluminum and use a second hose clamp to put a curved metal guard in place. You can fix that easily. And if t=you watch it only bounces up and hits that hose at idle and rapid deceleration. But yes the guard needs to be in place.
If you were closer I would have a replacement top for a small fee. I have been cutting them up and putting them in vehicles going to the shredder. I have 4 or 5 M1009 tops and a 1991 K5 with shoulder belts attached to the top. They are all leaving here soon as possible. I only need 1 of them at...
I agree 100% DO NOT remove the fenders and the hinges are fine. It is the bushings that are worn. That simple. No grinder needed to remove the pins. Carefully drive them up while they are attached to the door. If you are a good door adjuster then by all means remove the door. Other wise have a...
Do you have sufficient voltage and amperage to turn the engine over? If you do you can momentarily bypass the glow plug relay with a jumper wire. Count to 10 and attempt to start if you have glow plugs and fuel it should start when turning over. Make sure you have 12 volts going to the big...
The box is back in and the bulkhead connection rejoined. I like the hinge that is on the upper side of the drivers door. May I recommend if you ever have to work under the dash on the fuse box it is very helpful to remove the door and the drivers seat. Makes childs play of the whole job. No...
OK. I may have covered some of this before but here is a quick rundown. It is raining heavily here and I am inside in the dry. The melted box and light circuit. The box is split. I pulled the red feed wire and cut the heat damaged ends off the wiring. Same as the leg for the brake lights...
