    Help needed at Nellis AFB

Perfect timing!!! Just returned from inspecting the Deuce, with the assistance from BadMastard. I must say, first and foremost, Steel Soldiers has NO FINER of an ambassador than BadMastard. Very enthusiastic and helpful, he is also a fine salesman as well by trying to sell my boss &...

Does your RV space have room for a Deuce??

    Help needed at Nellis AFB

The only concern I have with RV storage lots in this town is the frequency with which rigs get broken into while stored in them. I've had a couple of friends & co-workers have their toy haulers broken into & small trailers with ATVs loaded on them get stolen from these places. Especially the...

How very kind! Do you happen to have a towbar, so you can tow his Deuce with yours?

EUC (first time buyer) cleared in 14 days!

Well, today the M101A1 found itself a new owner (and a good home). Turns out I over-bid on the recent lot of M105A2 trailers at Nellis AFB....I put in minimum bids on 5 M105A2s, hoping to fall through the cracks on one. Well, NOBODY else bid and I won 5, yes FIVE, M105A2s for MINIMUM OPENING...

    Help needed at Nellis AFB

OOH, you're right....Tues/Thurs only, between 0800-1430! Oops... When I called to pick up my M101A1 a couple of months ago, because of holidays & vacations, they adjusted their pickup schedules to Mondays/Wednesdays. But you are correct, thank you for pointing that out! [thumbzup]

    Help needed at Nellis AFB

Sorry fellas, I guess I jumped the gun a bit in my haste to PM (RE: possible pickup this Thursday). I'm PM-ing NoAccount to give my address & contact info, as well as arrange for pickup & transport. I might need a favor from a fellow member someday, so this is a good opportunity to step up and...

    Help needed at Nellis AFB

Jerry, Does that truck run? If so, I can store it at my house not far from there...but it needs to run so we can back it into my side yard, and out again (there is a slight 6-foot jog we need to turn around, so it's a little hard to have to winch it in & out of there). I have a truck &...

EUC (first time buyer) cleared in 14 days!

I know this is long overdue, but THANK YOU to everyone who gave suggestions for adjusting the ride level for the trailer. This has since been fixed by rotating the lunette ring on the trailer tongue 180-degrees to lift the tongue, and by raising my pintle hitch on my offset shank. Thank you folks!

EUC (first time buyer) cleared in 14 days!

I was the winning bidder on an M101A1 trailer, which is in amazing condition and complete with bows & tarp. Brandi at GL EUC Center helped me get everything straight on the EUC, and 14 days later it was approved. Chris at Nellis AFB DLA (Nevada) helped me locate & hook up the trailer. No...

California ARB (CARB) and Diesel "pollution"

Be careful with RVs in Kommiefornia, er, I mean California. The CHP (highway patrol) LOVES to pull over fifth-wheels and travel trailers that look to be overweight, and put them on the portable scales. They are also sticklers about driver's license endorsements as related to weights. I'd...

    M1's don't float

Hmmm, speaking of Hoffman Devices, reminds me of a graded wargame we had at Camp Pendleton in the 80s....2 of our M60A1s broke down in a steep canyon at night, and while trying to repair them part of the Aggressor Forces started popping tear gas at us & sniping at us. After repairing the tanks...

Spotted a cannon? while getting gas for my bobbed deuce

As long as it had a manufacture date prior to 1986, you should be OK....unless you are an ATF-certified Class III manufacturer.....

My own Idea for an M920A1

WOW, Soni = STUD! The Cumbres & Toltec RR would not be very successful without you, Soni....how many moves have you performed for the C&T now? And has the burned trestle been rebuilt yet? For those who aren't familiar with Soni, he is a major fabricator/machinist/restorationist for the...

    American LaFrance Auction

Is this just ALF jettisoning the Golan/Alpha programs? Or is ALF itself going out of business? Thanks in advance!

    International MRAP

Good grief, I missed this...is ALF being closed down? Didn't Oshkosh or Freightliner buy a controlling interest in them several years ago? Are they being consolidated, relocated, or terminated?

    What is it?

Stan, you are correct! And just wanted you to know, that from my acquaintances who have returned from Afghanistan, our Canadian Allies have been doing some very good work & kicking some serious taliban butt over there! Thanks for your service & your willingness to help us in the WOT!
