Again, we're talking about the battery disconnect here. The OEM one installed at the factory. I don't recall if the A1 came with a battery disconnect, but the A1R does.
So you're saying not to use it else your trans module will brick.
Gotcha
I think I'll wait for Ron to chime in...
Can't say, don't have an A1. Mine's an A1R with a battery disconnect. and it sure as hell safely stops the drain when the battery is disconnected. I also know that a battery disconnect works fine in an A0 truck. Want to test it? Go pull your battery cables for a day. Hook them...
Ron knows about as much on the topic as anyone I've seen post. He's had some interesting perspectives.
There's the trans computer that is always on, but at the end of the day a battery disconnect solves all.
:)
Except the price that doesn't f*** the community members up the a**
And I don't see Henry's listed there as a source of fasteners, etc.
So you're pretty much mistaken....
I'd have figured that it would require a balancer to populate the charge across all four. Know that 99.9999% of the time with these trucks the 12v side is too low due to the damned 12v vampiric leak they all suffer. So a single charger hooked to one battery with a balancer would...
Yep, just remember that you need the L and R clips for each rod (if I recall). My first truck had several of the plastic ones that were so brittle they fell apart at the touch. I used the plastic Dorman HELP kits that had like one of each size but one broke one of the 4 tabs off...
The 5/32" ones? Because that is what came on the A1Rs. I've worked with them in 60-70's cars/trucks forever with no issue (as you say, they have to be the right size for the rod).
Now there are throttle linkage clips that are identical that are too large, but this type clip comes in a...
Yep, even when not on sale these can be found at most autoparts sites. They've been used in car/truck doors since the 50's.
Or you can pay $20 for a set plus overpriced shipping from....the greedy.
Personally, I tack weld a small SS washer onto the rod ends (that will never break off or fail, but can still be pulled off with plyers if needed).
But I know some like to "keep it OEM" so....
$20 shipped for 50 lefts and rights (you need both). That's far less than a single set sold by "community vendors" (who also will charge you another $10 for shipping).

Only in my mind. Have a folder full of images from other trucks and the Interwebz. I know what I want to do, though.
I really need a proper bender before I start that aspect of the project. I have to make a repair to my sand rail frame (which is torn down) and a roof...
$80 it was hard to pass up.
:)
Been hanging in the garage since I did a quick test fit on my first truck. Gonna take a bit of modification of course. It will go under the cab branch guard and will have access doors for the stowage area up top. I thought it would be nicer than...
Years ago I looked at the crane that Colt used. They have an angle that (by my calculations) would prevent it from being able to turn 360 degrees if your bed rails are installed. So I favor the "straight" vertical run that can be rotated w/o removing the bed rails.
Depends on if you want a...
Horror Freight or Notherntools crane + Horror Freight 2K ATV winch.
Make a base insert out of 4"x4" box tube.
Rattle can paint.
/done
I've made three of them in the past four years (two for my trucks and one for my M1082 trailer, sans insert on the trailer of course...it's fixed mounted).
My neighbor has that one and it is quiet!
I picked up one of these at Sam's Club last month. Really for the house and backup power (always wanted a spare for hurricane season). I have 6K diesel on the M1079 also as a backup...
