Mine had wet spots on the axle and t case where oil had spilled, the pics showed me clearly that too, but it was written up as an oil leak. Mine was also advertised as not running and engine and trans couldn't be checked, I robbed a vim box out of a parts rig and plugged it in where mine was...
The answer to your question is what size is the threads, they are 10 mm x 1.50 thread pitch they should come out easily unless some expert used red locktite. I never use a thread sealer on them as I know some day they are going to break and I will have to extract them.
I have seen a few...
I ran the 855 cummins engines at - 40 at ft greely one year, at the time the national guard standard was still 15 w 40 there was no starting with out engine pre heat. 15w40 looks like honey at - 40. If the wind blows you will find the limitations of the coolant heater real quick. going forward...
the oil used here in Alaska was oea. oil engine arctic. a fuel burning heater is a must you also might plan on shoveling the cab out after the wind blows. The arctic kits had electric block heaters swingfire heaters and a fuel burning personnel heaters. they also had a winter front. In the...
the seal on the boost side of the compressor, it fills the crank case full of full boost pressure through the drain tube. the way to check it is to have the compressor drain into a container like a 5 gallon pail than stall test it and see if you are still making excessive crank case pressure...
I have seen this before with the 7.3 ford diesel. It has to do with the oil pressure relief valve, on the ford its in the return side of the oil cooler, when it builds pressure it effective turns hydraulic injectors into solid lifters and holds the valves open.
Duceak you think frost heaves are bad, over here on the west side there is no asphalt. Its a combo of heaves, sinkholes, and 18 inch deep potholes in our dirt roads. My last trip to teller I got the lmtv airborne, that sent the spit cup flying, other wise I usually make the drive with out ever...
You also should look for leakage at the boost tubes, grey or blue smoke usually indicates in complete combustion either from not running hard enough, incorrect timing or lean miss fire
With no load on the engine you wont show much boost if any. If the turbo rotor spins free and has no excessive play it will be capable of making boost. If the turbo mechanically checks out and it wont build boost you have another problem usually fuel related.
As a kid in the 80's I worked at a Texaco station, I remember a rash of new gm vehicles that came through the shop[ for their first oil change. They had oil filters installed at the factory with dry gaskets we had to use air chisels to get them off. We literally ripped the housings off every one...
Mine has some shifting issues too, I believe it is a tps issue but it hasn't set any codes. I changed tps adjustment it helped a little but still shifts, in my opinion at the wrong times, like when im just giving it small amounts of throttle driving around town.
