Yes, the fifth wheel is hydraulically operated, this enables the driver to lower or raise the fifth wheel for alignment with the trailer. There is also a pneumatically operated fifth wheel unlatch.

    1953 m104 ???

Recovry4x4. Thanks for the Carpenters Trailer info. I'll check the archives and internet and see where they lead. I like the tool boxes, they look like good storage for smaller items I take to the M/V meets.

    M878A1 (Ottawa Mod. 50)

I've never seen the military version of this truck before, some commercial truckers call them Yard Goats. The local scrap dealer in town purchased this M878A1 from the Hawthorne Munitions Depot auction back in April 2017. There was only one post on this truck in the SS archives, and it referred...

When you have time take a few more pics, cab interior, engine compartment (both sides), and underside.

    1953 m104 ???

A question for the trailer experts, what is it. I found this Fruehauf M104 trailer dated 10-53 in Yerington, NV., out in front of a restaurant doing duty as a sign holder. I'm no trailer expert, but I've never seen an M104 quite like this one. It has retractable struts on all 4 corners, and...

You have your work cut out. But it doesn't look like it has a lot of rust, and yes, uncut paper clips.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed the PTO about a month ago and all seemed well. So yesterday I crawled under to do an inspection and I have a leak between the PTO and transmission. I ordered new gaskets today, and when they arrive, I'll fix it!

Modern Russian Army in the photos.

The TU-95M is the latest derivative of the TU-95 line. The glass nose has been replaced by a dome that houses an array of electronics gear. I don't know if these aircraft are new build or a modification of existing aircraft.

Thanks m1010plowboy. Had me fooled. I figured it was a glitch or something. Well now that that's solved I think I'll sit down and have one!

This is the famous TU-114 Ship 1 that flew Krustschev to New York for his famous shoe banging visit to the UN. She has been on display since 1972 at an aviation museum in Monino Russia. Hate to think what 45 years of Russian winters has done to the airframe.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I would like to go to the 1100s not only because it keeps the stock look, but I can also pickup a little more top speed. I have been told I'll pickup about 5 mph top end with 1100s, does that sound about right?

Modern Russian Army in the photos.

My favorite Russian aircraft is the Tupolev TU-114. It's the airliner cousin of the Tu-95 Bear. In 1959 it was an engineering marvel. The Kuznetsov turbo prop engines produced 15,000shp. each, and top speed was comparable to a 707 or DC8, and it was the worlds largest airliner until the 747. In...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That's what I understand. Even if there are 9X20 & 11X20 tires available, I wonder if I'll be able to find someone, or afford to have someone them put on. I guess sooner or later I'll have to break down and go to M35A3 super singles.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Over the years, I had Parkhouse tires in So. Cal. mount tires on split ring rims, now I hear they don't touch them anymore.
