James, the M984 is the wrecker version of the HEMMT. It was manufactured in the M984A0, M984A1, M984A2 and M984A4. All 4 models appear to have different tow bar configurations. With some patience and perseverance you should be able to find out which model of M984 your parts belong to. My info is...
Welcome aboard from Nevada. I ran your part numbers and 1591460W is (tow bar motor vehicle). Is an Oshkosh Corp. part number. I didn't have time to dig deeper and find the vehicle the parts belong to. I would be surprised if you can't find help here on SS. If you can't find help here you might...
The new C-5M (modified C-5B) are a lot quieter. I understand they use the same engines as the KC-10 Tanker. I had a chance to chat with the USAF group from Travis when they toured the C-17 facility a few years back. They were at the factory for the start of production of their first C-17...
Coffey1, I would love to swap colors with you. Here in the high desert everything is desert tan, and I get tired of masking and painting the truck and trailer woodland green every other year. At the higher altitude here the sun fades green to grey in short order.
plowboy, looks like lots of good stuff up there to keep you busy all winter. Love the COE and closed cab trucks, and the museum looks great. By the way I know that's PapaBear, he's the only one I know with a chrome Briggs & Stratton with a blower running NOX injection.
Picture #5 looks like Papa Bear in his Briggs & Stratton powered F-16, getting ready for takeoff. He's even got his name on the nose cowling. Check out the Nitrous Oxide bottle next to the right rear tire. :papabear:
Rusty, I had a 1984 Mercedes 300D with the 5cyl. turbo diesel engine, and I put 327,000 miles on it before I traded it in on an S420 with a gas engine. The diesel was great and the gas engine S420 was on the back of a tow truck 4 times in the 6 years that I owned it.
Congrats Ben, nice looking truck. Looks like your truck has the extensions for a winch, but looks like the winch was removed. Does your truck have a PTO bolted to the transmission, and the control arm?
