According to NC DMV laws,overwidth signs are not required for loads less than 10 feet in width,a M172A1 is 9' 7" in width.Fairly sure SC has similar requirements.
VA on the other hand,requires both front and rear signs and flags.
After speaking to the DMV officer today,transporter plates DO NOT cover any vehicle that is capable of towing a fifth wheel type trailer,according to him,YOU MUST have a weighted tag for the weight of the vehicle and load.

Ok folks,today was the last straw,after a long and somewhat heated conversation with the NCDMV and NCDMV permit office(for 3 hours total),I am selling the 915A1 I got from WM and the 172A1 I bought to go with it.It's in the classifieds.
The 4 finger or 3 finger pressure plate will work with the 5 puck style ceramic deuce clutch disk with no problems.
I have used both types in my deuce with no ill effects.
