Check vacuum directly at the pump, should be 24-25 inches at idle.

I hope GL is watching this site.

I think the $150 minimum bid is for EUC items which require additional man hours to process thus the extra cost.

When I received my AS-1729 one of the hooks was loose in the bag, I suspect this is a common problem. PM sent.

Interesting unit, perhaps is was a prototype/experimental project. Should make for a great camper project, plenty of material to work with.

Issue with Battery cable w/ ground.

Poor/dirty connection at either end of the cable. Make sure all the battery connections are clean/tight and check to make sure the starter is in good working order, not dragging and pulling extra amps.

    1009 Tranny Trouble

If you have first and reverse then there is a good chance the trans is ok. Make sure you have 24-25 inches of vacuume at the pump, next check the line from the pump to the switch on the IP, check the position of the IP mounted switch, start with it fully counter clockwise, this will give it...

adjusting the shifting on the side of the injection pump

Yes they do go bad, about $95 for a new one. If you rotate it back toward the firewall it will shift faster, rotate it toward the front and it will shift slower. You can test it but you need an accurate vacuume gage. Also test the vacuume at the pump, you should have 24-25 inches at idle.

Took #2 right side Alt to repair shop

The only thing different is that the ground stud is isolated from the case by an insulating bushing. If they can't figure that out, bail!

    Alternator problem for M1009

From the factory both are isolated ground, this way you can switch them around and not worry. Also simplifies the supply system. Not sure why he would say that unless someone has messed with the wiring.

Injector Pump throttle shaft seals (long post!)

I have changed out 5 pumps now, not really too hard. Use a long extension to reach that bottom bolt, might need a swivel adapter. Then the fun really begins, now remove the oil fill tube, look in the hole and while turning the engine over by hand align one of 3 bolts that hold the pump gear to...
