a few of the old dodges. I’m not a big fan of those.
From the looks of the vehicles in the pictures, they aren't huge fans of them either. Make sure your tapping sound isn't from overspeed of the engine. I think it is a dry delivery nozzle tapping but I also think you are thinking about it...
If it were me I would add a quart of ATF and check it out from there. The lack of sulfur in diesel does this from time to time. I am not a genius but it worked for me in an m1028 I drove coast to coast. With the stock gearing at 75 mph. I wore ear plugs and still heard crickets and katydids...
Do you have a rear window A/C unit in this truck? How are you getting A/C in the cab?
Your truck has no fender or apron. It also appears that the wheel is off the right side. Do you drive it with the fender missing?
After seeing some ill efects of NOT cleaning the old seam sealer out of the seams I went about cleaning the 38 year old seam sealer from my current M1009. The seam sealer guy on this unit was drunk. At the rear it was an inch thick in a ball at the rear corner welds. I started grinding it out...
Used good will be fine. I have one let me know. Thank you. Check everything closely. And is the cable of any quality? Not a one size fits all design? Just asking.
standard shock absorbers will not increase or decrease ride height.
No, new shocks will not increase your ride height. Shocks aren't stiff enough to support the weight of the vehicle. The weight is supported by the springs and only things that will increase the ride height are stiffer springs...
How Much Rust Does My Car Have?
There is only one way to find out . Using the process called automotive chemical stripping and E-coating we strip your vehicle down to bare metal and take a look.
The classic car buyer is often told, “This car has no rust.” Realistically, however, almost no 20...
OK. May I suggest that you thread the bolt thru the bracket and nut. That way you have a stud and can put the strap onto the stud and just put a nut on it. Also loosening the lines as you do the fitting will help. Them replacement lines are a blast. Some fit like a glove and others fit like Oj's...
Problem solved. Under speed can you imagine the stress and wobble in that cable. Either the cable is worn / stripped and the square ends are worn off or the adapter has the worn out insert. I think you found the problem. I knew you could do it. Good Luck. Report back on your findings.
I always use PPG paint products. I never gave a lot of thought about anti rust. I never really believed in anti rust. Steel rusts from every angle. I am only working on 1 surface of a multi surfaced steel part. I do my best. But here is what I have as an option...
I have a complete crate like the one pictured. My Father gave it to me. It is in near perfect condition. My Father had a .50 caliber rifle that he target shot all the time. It had a scope as long as the rifle and the barrel was about 1 1/2"-1 3/4" round. You removed the bolt and attached the...
Todays post will be historical militarily. It will not mention CUCV's. I was over working on a barn a few miles from my home. The south east corner post had fallen out 20 years ago and it wasn't going anywhere. It was level and well supported. I took a 40 ton jack and positioned it to get a few...
Cool picture of a leaf spring repair. If Women don't find you Handsome they should at least find you Handy. Don't laugh it worked. Temporary repairs are just that temporary. If it gets you back home and off the side of the road it is a great idea. Just Be Safe.
I don't know how much it runs and the engine screaming or not,
You won't have a screaming engine on an M1009 that has the stock axles under it. The 3:08 gears are made for highway travel and you will not encounter the same engine RPM's that the CUCV truck/cab chassis variants have. The 4:56...
I had 2 CUCV plow trucks back 15 years ago. 1 had the stock set up and the other had the bypass done on the rear axle. And before someone mentions it I know there was a service bulletin that GM put out about bypassing the valve. Any way the truck that had the bypass done would lock the wheels...
