Keeping my word to those that are following this thread I was out getting ready for another project and snapped a few pictures of the body parts. Technically speaking all the body work/dent removal and repair has been completed. I must get to Harbor Freight and pick up a few spray guns. I have...
I probably have a used set of OEM centers. What sucks about the is to fit on the stock M1009 wheels you will need to drill a few holes. The center bolt on from the back of the wheels. If you are interested let me know. I will make a deal. I don't have any steel rally wheels anymore just M1009...
Today I started out early and can now say both doors are completed on the outside. Both Fenders are completed on the outside. When I say completed they are straight and the body work is completed on them all. The hood is 95% prefect and I am going to just sand and use it the way it is. I also...
Well I do recall that you are supposed to push a piece of hose over the end of the petcock. But you can change that stock petcock and put an angled brass valve on the drain. Eliminate the stock drain petcock. Or just live with it. The angled brass petcock can have a short fitting or hose...
Remember the fender dent from the loader? It pretty much gone. Being dented for over 25 years was long enough. I spent some time with a prybar , dolly and hammer. A light coat of filler and it is a good OEM GM fender again. Option was Chinese new ones or fixed rust free originals. That was an...
As in this Moskvitch? That looks like a bad ass 4 WD automobile. Has the Red Neck flare like putting a Camaro body on a K5 Blazer frame. I have the frame and axles. Camaro bodies are cheap and plentiful. I can see it now a 4 WD IROC Z. :)
I know the 1999 CUCVII was a repaint of a black Tahoe. Maybe not all of them. I seen several at the dealership and they were repainted before delivery. Strange as it may be. My Friend had a brand new 1995 Camaro convertible and it left the factory as a hardtop and was converted by another...
I do have pictures somewhere of CUCV's being built on Flint assembly line at the same time as standard trucks, Suburban's. Blazers. No special line. They were painted 3 color camouflage right at GM. I seen them being unloaded at the dealership I worked at and went to GM school in Moorestown NJ...
Dobbins AF base was not too far from my house when I was growing up and in high school in the 80's. I specifically remember driving past the AF base and seeing some of the service vehicles painted a dark flat blue
I don't doubt that but they were not CUCV's from the factory.
Like posted the RPO...
I would get new battery cables made. And not that bolt on type. Get the type similar to what were on from factory. The less connections you have the better. Avoid crimped/pinched/hammered/ connections...
