If you have an operational gen set, put the parts you want to test, into the operational set, and see if they work. Not the other way around.

Did you test them in any way?

Where did you get the " 3 separate mechanical meters" from? Did you test them in any way? Or get them from a junk box?

Have you tried to go over and ask questions? Maybe the folks next door? And the Police are the ones you need to get involved right now, before any more time passes.

TB1. The long TB in the picture. The last 2 wires on the left side should be F1 and F2. The F1 is positive. Start the set, then apply the DC voltage to F1 and F2 momentarily. Don't get the polarity wrong.
