If you go to the NY DMV website for antique registration info it only addresses age, not a word about weight. We're near to Cortland, where Brockaway trucks were made and there's some of them around with antique plates. Fire engines, too.
As far as the weight limits, you'll want to check with...
Howdy, Bio and welcome to the site.
I live outside Auburn, NY. Where are you? A bunch of the local tread-headed, diesel-breath, OD iron loving types get together several times a year. The next time will be for some parades on the 4th. If your anywhere close to us, throw me a PM for info.
As...

I should have been a little more clear about the 14 day pick-up. My experience is that if you make a pick-up appointment within the 14 day widow, it can be for a later date, but they want the certainty of knowing when you are coming.

Good luck Lee and welcome to the joys of dealing with the the DLA and GL. It's usuallly worth the hassle.
Some info that might help:
You must list a credit or debit card when you register with GL. The card seems to have to have the same name and address as the registrant. I couldn't register...
Thanks
I need to check if out what's available for transient quarters on post or maybe if there is a GI recreation facility nearby. 25 years of my career was as an infantryman and I've never been to Bragg!

I'm thinking of bidding on a trailer at Ft. Bragg. Has anyone done business there?
Also, does anyone know if the M103A3 trailer chassis (M105A3, etc) with dual line brakes needs air pressure to be able to move it? If things work out I'll pick up the trailer with my F-350 dually. It gets better...
We used several kinds of generator to run computers (commercial laptops) in our command posts.
I'm retired now but my personal lapper, a Panasonic Toughbook, is on gen set and vehicle power often. It has never cared what the gen set vehicle charging system does because my power adapter has a...
The date on the MWO (Modification Work Order) does indicate that it almost surely was for seatbelts.
OK what I'm about to write is from memory and research. I'm pretty sure it is correct but I can't be absolutely positive. Any corrections are welcome.
The "69" in the 7th and 8th character of...
Moving 5-6 face cord of 20" wood in a single load from the woodlot up to the house, moving large lots of lumber and roofing materials, hauling stuff to the scrapyard and construction debris to the dump, travel to shows, dragging stuff around the scout camp, parades, moving hay/straw, retrieving...

I may be able to take your shipment. We are in the Auburn area and our farm is about 10 to 12 minutes off the I-90 exit 40 (Weedsport-Auburn, mile marker 304) If you needed to stay overnight before returning ,you're welcome to stay here.
We normally load Sunday or Monday and leave Tuesday...
I noticed that this show is not on the calender. It is a WWII air show and re-enactment in Reading, PA put on by the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum.
It usually has quite a variety of vehicles and aircraft show up. The website is http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html
If you look at the lower right...
Hello
I am interested in a GL item for sale at Malmstrom AFB.
The item is already boxed and should just need taped shut with maybe a little more padding. It will be around 18"x18"x40" and likely weigh less than 40 pounds.
I will FAX or email a shipping label so it can be dropped, pre-paid...
Try a technique learned from working on old tractors and steam engines.
Get an air chisel. Grind one chisel to a smooth rounded end.
Soak the fitting with PB Blaster or a similar product. Use the chisel, with low to medium air pressure, to vibrate the fitting and speed up the penetration...
We used to put M151s into deuces and 5Ts by backing into a roadside ditch driving the M151 in on a couple sticks of pierced steel runway planking laid with the lugs up.
The quarter ton got tied down and the planks got slid under it.
Anybody got a couple pieces of pierced steel plank (PSP)?
Lance
If the control box is with it it might be worth picking up. Remember that this critter is designed to keep an M113 reasonably warm in arctic conditions with the hatches open. It puts out way too much heat for a truck cab. It also will melt rucksacks, melt intrenching tool covers into shrinkwrap...
