Per the manual- black on green/brown areas, green on black areas.
Cheers
PS added pics for example. Marine CUCV's often had the USMC###### on the door just above the crease line. Also, the Marines usually write the tire pressure as ##PSI, though they do use TP## also.
Most welcome, John.
One thing I can say is that if he does embark on a similar trip, I will not again be the one seeing him off in the night saying to myself "He reeeeally shouldn't be going alone..." The last time I was going myself with a unit from work, so could not go with him. That won't...
"Original" often can be any or all the schemes for one vehicle.
My M931 is currently overall 34094 green, but that is a repaint as evidenced by numerous tan bits showing through. Under one of the paint chips that is lifting on the frame (as CARC tends to do) is a small black/brown area, so...
Buy several, and keep them in your truck. The new one will break in a year or so (at least they do on the M813, and I do not drive around with the parking brake on). Most of the deuces/5-tons I have been a part of recovering had this spring broken.
Cheers
If you want an "accurate for your truck" scheme, since 1987 the USAF have painted deuces in 3-colour (383) camo; the overall green from that scheme (34094); or tan. OD and Strata Blue were long since obsolete when your truck was built.
If you just want to paint it a cool colour regardless of...
With Isaac inbound for the Gulf coast, it makes one think of this story again.
I talked to Sarge an hour ago, he had just got off the phone with Tracy. All Tracy is expecting is 18" of rain () and not much in the way of wind, so there shouldn't be any need for Sarge to repeat the...
Depending on the condition of the vehicles, that could be a fair trade. A decent 404 is worth about the same as a decent 813. The diesel Mogs in good shape are worth $$ in the teens.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with having a Unimog and an M813! ;)
Cheers
They are usually referred to as convoy lights. Try a search using that term and see what you come up with, I know I have seen lots of info on these in the past.
I will also look and see if I can find the PDF of the instructions for mounting the kit and I'll post that.
Cheers
Jpinst, sorry you got burned. Don't stop trying though, there are still options to pursue, as suggested above.
I have quite a bit of Clansman kit, most purchased through Ebay and have had no problems. I was very selective about who I bought from though.
As a general rule, the Brits and my...
Nice! [thumbzup]
Most interesting thing I have found so far in a newly acquired generator - a 9/16" open-end wrench in my MEP-002A fuel tank. :cookoo:

This seems common. A buddy of mine who sells surplus has barrels of lights that only partially work, hasn't found a reasonable way to fix them yet.

You are correct, Field Drab is a brown. One way to know is the FS number of 30118, the 0 indicating a brown.
And remember, anything painted MERDC was last fully repainted in the 70's, so it is going to be faded!
If you are not familiar with US Federal Standard colour codes, the first number...
Yep, drivers door. Stationary when some locals took offense to their presence. Lets hear it for armoured glass!
He is so nonchalant about it, but that picture made my hair stand on end.
Cheers
PS- shooting at Marines who are in armoured vehicles and have .50cal's is a life...
My boy Davey on the left of pic one. Although he probably looks like a grown up Marine to others, he still looks like my little boy to me.
On the second picture the comment is - "You have to admire the shooting, though a man could take this kinda personal".
All I can say is I ask blessings...
For clarification, the M931A2 has the 14.00s, CTIS, and the 6CTA.
The M931 and the M931A1 have the NHC.
Stock, the M931 has 11.00s, the A1 has 14.00s.
The M931A2 will easily do 65+ without a trailer, though I personally don't feel comfortable driving it at that speed.
Cheers
PS: while we...
I guess we need a 'chain being yanked" icon now... :)
First question, why would you take a Mule on a patrol?
Second, if you were carrying a Mule around, that is pretty much all you would be thinking of or looking at while stumbling and crashing about the place, which would pretty much negate...
The 4th MarDiv emblem is a rather unimaginative red diamond with a gold 4 on it.
Divisions 1-3 are the current active duty Marines.
4th MarDiv is the Marine Reserve division.
The 5th MarDiv was deactivated after WWII, but was reactivated from 1966 to 1969.
The 6th was deactivated in 1946...
Umm... yeah.... :-P
You are right Louie.
You have seen some of the old stock parts of that one though, they reside comfortably in my V now. Thanks Gerald! [thumbzup]
Cheers
