Dumpster truck backed into my M1009!

That pickup was indeed comfy (and since it was 107* Thursday, I was thankful for the A/C), but glad to see Pinky back. Looks like they did good work, the bumper seems nice and straight. [thumbzup] Cheers

    New V-100

He is well. Talked to him a bit this morning (his evening, they are 7.5 hours ahead of us). They have been doing heavy maintenance on the vehicles in preparation for a long deployment off the FOB. We may not have any electronic contact for the rest of his tour until they come back to the...

    New V-100

And now, the V's. There are loads more, which will be shared in time. The usual legal caveats apply, all pictures are copyright by their owners, who gave permission to share them here, and can only be used for personal reasons, etc, under penalty of various vicious and cruel punishments...

    New V-100

Jim, it does sorta look like her arm is off.. She thought that was funny and says "Hi Jim!". Having now figured out how my scanner works, here are some of the pictures the guys shared with me. They come out rather low resolution when loaded onto SS, the originals are much clearer...

    M1009 Marking's

On the fuel doors of both my M1009s. The first truck is in the newer camo pattern. On the second, in the older camo pattern, the words are all lined up to the left as opposed to centered on each other, and in very faded white letters(!). The TP-35 was white too. And I found a picture of...

    New Data Plate Source

To get technical on designations- shouldn't that be XM381E2? That is how mark numbers for experimental or non-standardized vehicles go (indicated by the X)... Nit-picky I know, but might as well do it right! Cheers

    New Data Plate Source

Thanks for the link. For "hard to find" try locating data plates for a V100! :) Cheers

    New V-100

Thanks Louie. I do have the book and will take a peek. Gotta figure out why the V has thrown that belt twice in two weeks, hopefully it is just because the alternator has gotten out of alignment. I have passed on your kind words, they were greeted with happy smiles. Cheers PS- for those...

Dumpster truck backed into my M1009!

Pawnshop, your rather surprised message telling me he had hit your 1009 arrived...10:09! From previous experience with that company, they are a major local business and when their drivers hit something (which they do with some regularity ), they just go ahead and pay up promptly. Not...

    New V-100

Louie, seeing the reaction from you guys made all the effort that went into fixing the V up more than worthwhile. Sorry the driving got cut short by the %^$# belt coming off. :???: I'm so glad y'all had a good time, and glad that Mike is okay. It was a brutally hot day! That's why I was...

    New V-100

Saturday I had five veterans of the 630th MP Co., who did convoy escort with V100s in Vietnam, down for a visit. Louie, aka Baseballump, arranged the visit, and these guys came from all over the country to be here. The heat got a bit rough (106*), but other than that I think everyone had a...

    MVPA Show in Huntsville, AL

Chuck, crowded or not, it was a good show and we had a ball there. And we stuffed Reloader's wife's new ride to within an inch of its capacity with booty (of the MV variety) for the trip home! Y'all did good, and we appreciate it. [thumbzup] Cheers

    MVPA Show in Huntsville, AL

One of my favorite vehicles in the show (though it is almost impossible to pick favorites from so many lovely vehicles) was this one- a 1968 Chevy pickup. Part of my attraction to it was, of course, because my first vehicle was an almost identical '68 Chevy pickup, the main difference being...

    MVPA Show in Huntsville, AL

Due to the crammed together display of the vehicles (out of necessity, I know, but still unfortunate), my pictures didn't come out any different than those already posted except this one of the cab. It was a good show, we had a ball, and got to talk to some great folks, but never for long...
