We did the Austin Veterans Day parade on the morning of the 11th. The weather was beautiful, started out around 32* on the drive down (I looked like Rudolph the Red-Nosed V Driver when we arrived!), warmed up to around 50* almost as soon as the sun came up.
I invited Baseballump and a Vietnam...
We (Lone Star MVPA) do a military vehicle and equipment display for a local school district each year for Veterans Day. The school does it right before the day so the kids have a better idea of what they are honouring on Veterans Day proper. We did ours on Monday the 7th.

For Texas folks-
You don't need a CDL, but you do need a Class A license (same for the M809 series trucks, it is a weight thing). The Class A means you have met the requirements for a CDL, but don't have to do the physical or pay the high fees, or keep the log books etc..
The caveat is that...
You need 100 posts to sell something in the classifieds. This cuts some legitimate low-post count folks out, but there is a valid reason for it. The few problem children always spoil things for everyone else.
You can buy from there with whatever you have.
There are many, many posts on this...
Glad to see they did the right thing and set them down when things were bad. Many birds get lost due to "get-home-itis", pressing on for home pad regardless of the odds stacked against them.
Grampa Pettibone would be proud of this flight leader! (Lets see who knows what THAT means..)...
Yours would be the exception to the mileage question, and there are a few. It is usually obvious when you look at the vehicle.
In general, I think most folks who buy a CUCV and think they are getting a 6k mile truck (a recent SS example) because of the odometer reading are fooling...
My aeroplane pictures are too poor to bother with, but they included a P-51, B-25, PBJ (Marine version of the B-25, not the sandwich), and four T-6's.
Cheers
1- Overview. Teaching about camouflage on the right.
2- Mitch uses the M185 as a backdrop for his uniform and equipment talk to the...

Thanks Dave. I have a couple of boxes of stuff packed up for you that I have been meaning to send off- the fire bottle cable, battery heat shield, smoke launchers, etc., etc. And I don't have overseas to use as an excuse..
Plugging along on the details. I thought I was almost done, but when I actually wrote out a list of the little chores, as well as some big ones, it filled two notebook pages! Sigh...
But I do enjoy working on it, and frequently catch myself grinning like a 'possum when I think about where I am...
At least two of the MJ's are left hand drive....
I have wanted one of those since I was a youngling (and that was a while ago!).
Thanks for posting these. Seems your bean-counters are bound and determined to sell off your entire military. Rather like when old Duncan Sandys tried to...
Nice truck! Welcome to Texas.
Gotta love that law! :jumpin:
In Texas the registration can be painted anywhere on the vehicle consistent with accurate military markings (and they do not have to be the vehicle's original service or markings, or something already on the vehicle).
This includes...
14.00s are too big for you truck. 14.5s are roughly the same height as an 11.00.
And no, I am not suggesting replacing 14.5s with 11.00s (they won't sit properly on the rims) it is just a size reference.
Cheers
I agree with DR, don't modify the original EET trailer. I personally would get a commercial trailer and drag stuff on it.
Now since the EET isn't doing what you want it to, you should really just give it to me to haul my V100 around on, for which job it would be perfect! :-P
Cheers
The picture below was borrowed from one of the many M35 pages on Olive Drab, actually shows a USMC M35 in Vietnam. It is possible that the source on there confused the M35A3 with all M35's perhaps. The A3 (and A4 in M109/M185 guise) were only used by the Army (to the best of my knowledge!!)...
In Texas as a Preserved Military Vehicle, $10 a year.
Currently insured through State Farm, but I will be changing that. They have been reasonable on my other MV's, but have decided this one is a "tank" and jacked the premium way up. They said it was because of the weight.
I said "You...
