About the terminals, push down on them to open and insert the wire.
The original horn button assy is one of the least mil-spec items on the truck IMHO and the new sealed version should easily be the kit of choice here.

It's not necessarily the actual weight, but how the weight is distributed on the axles the way I understand it. My 8-1/2 ton xm757 8x8 has an empty classification of "7".
