    What are you guys paying?

Everything is fixable, what I’m seeing is bargaining material.

    What are you guys paying?

Maybe I missed it, but where was it listed it had an engine swap? All I see is a turbo and some things under the hood painted black.

    What are you guys paying?

I would pay $5k for that. Doesn’t seem like too much work to sort out. Interested in more info on that turbo though.

Paradox by Design CUCV HMMWV cooling kit

Thorough write up and great pictures. I wasn’t looking forward to figuring out the differences for all the openings in the hmmwv crossover

    Bilstein Shocks for Lifted M1009

I’m guessing he’s trying to use ord’s knowledge to order shocks elsewhere for cheap, otherwise why even care?

    Lift kit for M1009

When I have driveshafts made, my shop just wants a measurement from the yoke to the end of the tailshaft. They do the rest. Is this not a driveshaft shop that you’re dealing with? http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/app/webroot/img/File/how_to_measure_diagrams/b.html

    Bilstein Shocks for Lifted M1009

If you look on their website that is the part number given for that application. I’m going to venture a guess that they suggest using a different application for square bodies than bilstein suggests hence an ORD part number vs a bilstein part number. If they listed say a dodge or ford bilstein...

    Bilstein Shocks for Lifted M1009

That is just their part number for their spec’d 5100 series shock.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I’ve thought about one of these for a while, where’d you get it? I ended up moving my rear battery onto the front tray as well because it died prematurely even with a heat shield wrap.

    Lift kit for M1009

It’s the lift blocks that exacerbate the axle wrap affect. You can certainly feel it from a stop if you get on the throttle. You can break leafs, u joints, etc. i would ask how the driveshaft place wants tou to measure. They know how to take into account how far the slip yoke moves. 2wd...

    Lift kit for M1009

the application would be for a 2wd version of a k5 (but a c10 would work as well).

I just got my hmmwv crossover today. Looking forward to your findings.

    Lift kit for M1009

That yoke is dangling out quite far. Almost looks like the pinion angle is a touch pointed down but doesn't look horrible. Plus with those tall blocks you'll have a bunch of axle wrap so it'll probably get fairly equal. I've never dealt with relocation brackets. I gave you a source for cheap...

Added an oil pressure gauge and kept warning light

Looks good. Did you use the typical plastic tube that comes with gauges? I'd just keep an eye on that or replace with braided line.

Anyone Have This Setup: 33x10.5x15s on Black Rock 942 Wheels???

I do not, I only have a 2" lift. Bilsteins website has all their shocks with heights listed though. Offroad designs also sells them and suggests what length with certain lifts.

Anyone Have This Setup: 33x10.5x15s on Black Rock 942 Wheels???

I have those tuff country shocks and honestly they leave a lot to be desired other than being made in the USA. I'd spend the extra coin on a set of bilsteins

Daily driver / tow set up

I live in Lakewood and have an m1009. Completely empty and before the turbo I had trouble sustaining 45mph on i70. 60mph on 6th Ave in town was hard to do. Now with the turbo i can do 70mph on i70. I'd think 40mph up into the mountains loaded down would be a push but also North Carolina is...
