I'm going to go with one piece boots on the front of my 818, but it is time to tear the front down so it will be good to go ahead and go the one piece route
Ron, while I agree that previewing is a must, I have my own story to tell.
When I bought the M109, the vin did not match the discription, when I went to preview it. No other truck on the entire lot had that vin, me and the GL rep looked at them all. He backed through all his paperwork, and...
Great Job! Very interesting work around for someone who figured out the 12v system.
I've resurrected many lost and forgotten things as of late. It is a wonderful feeling and the machines appreciate it, I can tell. They have been sitting so long they forgot how wonderful it is to 'live' again...
lol an exploded view, doesn't say, remove this part first, to access this...
It just says, if you start taking everything apart, this is what it will look like on the bench.
I'd rather not have to remove the whole thing only to discover if I had pulled 6 bolts here I could have removed the...
Ok, pulled the swing motor just before the storms hit. The key is fine, the motor is fine, if I turn the sleeve for the motor shaft, the worm gear in the box does not turn. I'm guessing that means the key is missing/fell out/sheared.
The 34p tm shows all the parts, but in none of the TM's does...
I bought them, they were military issue. Found a bunch forgotten in a warehouse at an electrical supply company, bought them all. I only have the 2 I use left.
It was built with resisters to drop the voltage. The reostate was to drop the constant hot voltage (I assume for ABS brakes on the...
E, you are a bleeding genius!
All they did was flip part 2 the brake housing 180 degrees. The bands the same NSN- 2590-740-9565 PN 7409565
Now I just have to find one!
I could 'borrow' the one out of the front winch if it isn't in that bad a shape until I can get one.
Eric, I'll take some better pictures of it when I get home. The bed AMG parted out was off a M62 I believe.
I'll dig through the TM's somemore and see if the part # are the same, good call on the winch brake, I might get lucky.
I bet several country's right now could out build us on simple weapons of war. And I agree whole heartily about making the military too complex. A lot has to do with people up top getting out and working for defense contractors, and the demand for bigger and better in the military. My ship was...
I still have several of those lighting converters. I stopped selling them because I was getting several people angry because they said they wouldn't work for them, yet when I got them back (usually butchered so they could put whatever plug on the end) it would work fine for me...
Handy as ****.
Ok, after pouring over the TM's, I figured it might be the load brake. Sure enough, when I pulled the cover off, it was full of water. and the band was rusted solid to the drum. Pried all that off, and the hoist works!
Unfortunately, the last winding jumped the drum, due to the block sheave...
M816, yes, each lever was operated separately until the air was purged. I don't think the water has been in the gearbox long, in fact I think I was the one who let it get there... I had the top plug off for a day and it had rained, but didn't thing that much water got in. It was more gear oil...
I might get up at 2am when it is bearable outside and do that Kenny.
I don't want to think about how much $$ a gallon of Kroil would be!
I would think it wasn't the bearing in the housing but the one on the other side of the drum that is pretty much out in the elements.
