    HMMWV seats in a CUCV?

look for suburban buckets, the ones I removed to put in my 1009 had individual rails for each seat I took the seats off the rails and put them on my 1009 bases. I sold the rails with the old 1009 seats to someone who was going to put them into a 1008 but have not heard how well they worked...

    Back in the CUCV game

I think you did real good for $1200. looks like you have some work ahead of you but for the money I would not have passed that one up either.

    New exhaust on my M1009

33's fit with stock rims and no rubbing on a 1009. forget the body lift on a 1009, you have to cut the back bed out to get to the bolts and unless your bed is trashed and needs replacement I would not attempt to do this. suspension lift is best option and if doing any lift at all, I would not...

    my 24v mess

I think this 12volt vs 24volt battle should be moved to another thread, It is not helping the OP at this point. We are here to help this member not bash each other and confuse his thread.

    my 24v mess

I thing we need to have the OP get us some more information before we confuse him on if he needs to be 12 or 24 volt. I beleive we need to know what starter he has and the state of his current wiring. Once we get him back on track and his truck running he can the determine if he wants to change...

    my 24v mess

get us some better pictures if you can, from what I can see there is not a wire from the batteries to your 12 volt terminal block which is located next to the glow plug relay on the drivers side. we also need to see if the 24 to 12 volt resistor is still there and if it is still being used, it...

    VDP overhead shelf in CUCV

thanks, if I had it to do over again, I would have made my own out of some aluminum, I have a small wire feed welder that welds aluminum and I can weld ok with it. I still would not want to make any new holes in my 1009 so even with my own self made shelf, I would still install the all thread...

    M 1028 gear ratio

no bracket needed and the vacuum is not needed either. you have to leave the vacuum pump in because the oil pump uses the shaft of the vacuum pump but you do not have to worry if the pump works or not. I went with the TCI controler due to it has additional functionality. I did have problems...

    VDP overhead shelf in CUCV

you may want to search my post on the install of the lmc shelf. I added support to the visors using all thread. I went through the existing visor holes into the mounting holes for the shelf. It was an easy mod and it got rid of the shelf vibration and the bouncing visors. I am now in the...

Installing front receiver hitch for Surf Fishing

The block under the leaf spring is a one inch zero rate from ORD. It moves the front axle forward one inch. The hitch has no flex I have looked at a few of them made by others and this one is at least twice as thick and has a 3/8 thick brace under the receiver that keeps the plate from flexing...

Installing front receiver hitch for Surf Fishing

I just got my front receiver hitch fabricated today, along with the winch holder. It is made of 3/8 inch steel plate and bolts between the frame rails in front of the cross member and behind the bumber. The two inch reciever is just below the bumper and is almost flush with the bottom of the...

    gauge cluster conversion question

red led dash here is a pic of the red led dash, it is very easy on the eyes the bulbs do not dim but it is not needed with the red. I also put led's in the tail lights and marker lights. All lights in the rear are led including the reverse lights, the front side markers are led but in order...

    CUCV startup sounds

if it is your glow plug relay making the sound then that means it is about to quit. The only time mine made any sounds is after I converted to 12volt, the relay would make a buzzing sound, that lasted for about a dozen starts before the relay died. I do not beleive the CUCV's used any door...
