I, too, failed to take many photos back in my Marine days, I regret that now. Oh well. I treasure the few I have, and I have told my son "take lots!".
The area in pic 9 (previous post) will eventually have the RT-524/442 mounted. The attached picture of B3.3T's outstanding V at the Dayton...
You don't by chance have any pictures you would like to post? :jumpin:
Most recent work revolves around getting the hatches properly fitted. Lots of little plastic washers to stuff into the hinges so everything hangs and closes properly.
I am still short a couple of hatch springs for the...
Don't know about your ad, but editing your signature should be easy.
Go to the directory line directly below the Steel Soldiers header and click on "User CP" (should be all the way over on the left).
Once there, look in the column "Control Panel" for a button that says "Edit Signature"...
Thanks for the info.
I am a big believer in safety gear and have several CVC helmets and goggles with ballistic lenses that will be mandatory wear for anyone in the V when it is moving.
I also found pictures of V's in Vietnam with a small windshield rigged in front of the driver, so I am...
Yes, indeed, it is an April Fools joke. [thumbzup]
Just in case folks didn't figure that out by reading it and noting the Migs varied in type in the photos (including versions that hadn't flown yet when they were "bought" by Canada), this link helps-

Thanks for the info, I value your input. [thumbzup]
I have been through the MP site, lots of great pictures and other information on there.
I know mine was delivered new to the 720th MP at Long Binh in 1968, and went through a depot level rework in Saigon in '69, but there the trail is lost...
Very clever and quite entertaining, someone put a lot of time into that April Fools joke!
The part about the Avro Arrow is mostly true, and a sad story indeed.
Cheers
Ahh! A man with first-hand experience! Thank you.
Okay, you can't say something like that and not elaborate. Details please! ;-)
Any other information on your experiences would be much appreciated too. We have lots of period pictures, but very little in the way of human history on the...
Yep, but take into account that the MERDC camo hasn't been put on trucks since the early 80's, so that is some pretty old paint!
In case you are not aware of it, the manual for the MERDC schemes is TB43-0147.

So, what progress to report? I'd be interested to see the reduced size center tunnel, that does take rather a lot of the interior in the original.
Cheers
Very considerate of you...
Actually, I'm sure it leaked all over the hatches before they were moved, but I am not worried because the M151 currently has Dot-0 in the brake system!
That one is not mine, unfortunately.
Cheers
Edit- just to clarify the Dot-0 comment, since it was...
Here are a few more pictures. All the hatches had to come off for painting because they are exterior colour inside and out, so its easier to paint them hanging up, and because you get a cleaner shot at all the mounting bits without the hardware in the way. The hatches were actually all painted...
Ta da!! No more red primer (or grey primer either..:-P).
Three coats of green later, we have this.
I had actually got used to seeing it red after 2+ years, it almost looked good that colour.
Cheers

Good save, looking forward to seeing it restored. [thumbzup]
Since I personally dislike links to pictures, most of which turn out to be dead ends a short time after posting, I will crassly take the liberty of posting your picture directly to the site for you. Hope you don't mind!
