Do you have any more pictures of the WIG from post 127? I have only seen similar 'from the front' photographs of that particular machine and am interested in what the rest looks like.
Great thread, I am enjoying it. Thank you. [thumbzup]

My M813 (governed 2100rpm) will run around 65 on 14.00's. Hard to know exactly, because my speedometer only goes to 60.. However, at that speed I feel a bit like a missile, and I don't like that.
I have found that the truck "likes" 57mph indicated, as in, if I drive on the highway and...
Actually, Temple may just be do-able (need a 'fingers crossed, eyes squinched, and hoping real hard' icon here), though I don't want to jinx things saying it will be there for sure. Lets just say I am working on the logistics of getting the M185 and the V up there at the same time!
And I have...
Oh come now, just because I am.. um.. (concentrating - counting).. 27 months behind schedule, is that any reason to rush me?? :-D
Part of what was done over the weekend was removal of the non-original gun depression limiters from the turret. I have seen these on a few DOE V100s, along with...
The results of a few days well spent. After a couple of days it is all dry now, green goes on Thursday. :-D
Almost all the nice seafoam bits that were hanging on those racks before are bolted on inside now.

Very decent of you to man up and publically admit the mistake, therby hopefully saving someone else the same problem. [thumbzup]
Good luck on the 4BT swap.

Thanks for the feedback on those tires B3.3T, helps me cement my choice. While the Michelins are still plentiful, they are all older than the Goodyears I can pick up near me.
That and the Michelins make the vehicle 'bounce' at sustained low speeds (as in parade speed), at least on my M813...
Cool, thanks for the info. The picture shows how I have mine set up, I am more than happy to take suggestions on improvements! If it is much different than yours, can you show me your setup?
I'm running on the original run-flat tires currently, but once I get the second set of wheels worked...
Yes Dave, you are in for some fun!
The toughest troubleshoot was the shifting. With those long, spindly rods and levers, getting them all set right is a trick. You get second gear set where it snicks in smoothly and find that you can't get it into third. You get third tweaked in, move on...
Most of the interior bits are now in. All the openings in the hull are being masked off today, to be followed by the final exterior hull work before painting.
Planning to roll her into the paint booth tomorrow or Saturday.
I may actually get this finished before 2099, which was the new date...
Thanks for posting that. There is good info on the site, I used some for working out adapting the vehicle mount to hang the PRC-352 in my M1009's and running off vehicle power.

Using the long cable is like wrestling a large, heavy snake, which is why mine is now semi-affectionately known as "The Anvilconda".
Handy when you need it though...

"Have Gun, Will Travel" has been renamed, she is now "Bad Ass".
Ed changed the name because he originally didn't realize there was a real truck of that name, and he was building the vehicle as a representative of the breed rather than a replica of a particular one.
Ed met a member of the...
I don't have a source for the M1030 military-specific parts, sorry. There is a chap on here who has restored several who might be able to help, but I can't remember who it is (), I'll let you know if I figure it out.
You might try making a "Wanted" post in the classifieds ads section...
And the glacier grinds just a little further forward...
All the vision blocks (and there are a lot of them!) are in and sealed. I was amazed at how much more 'finished' it looks with glass instead of empty holes.
All the wheels came off so the backs of the rims, the hubs, and the wheel wells...
