    The A3 I had was missing that also and it looked as if was not used in a long time. I checked here on SS and came up with that it is not used for anything.

    Sounds like the solenoid, or starter, ground, or control box. Short out the solenoid and see if the starter starts.

    They are under the dash by the steering column. They are inline fuses.

    I made a little holder for a 3 ton floor jack that the hub will fit on to take it off and put them on. They are very heavy. Here is a pic of it working on a deuce.

    You can adjust it at the lever a little. But for big change you need to adjust it at the brake shoes.
