Yeah, that will flush right out then good to go....err park maybe. <grumble><grumble>
  2. Third From Texas

Handy Little Allison Trans Student Guide

I thought so as well. It's an Allison class handbook for fire department mechanics, basically.

Handy Little Allison Trans Student Guide

As I prepare to delve into the trans on my 94 for a checkup, I found this. It's a nice general overview used in training mechanics in the civilian world. I've found it handy and a bit less convoluted than the TMs. Of course it covers multiple models, but has some good info. ymmv...

WHO' S A FULL TIME LMTV OVERLANDER, ANY OUT THERE?

Yep. Cheap is good. I'm not one of these "let's blow $100k on a camper build" guys. I don't have it. Lot's a retasked, scraps, RV takeoff, and surplus stuff. :)

WHO' S A FULL TIME LMTV OVERLANDER, ANY OUT THERE?

Not that it matters, but this is what I've settled on. Almost all weight slung low at frame (except fresh). No batteries in house (especially under bed which is suicide). All diesel heaters mounted outside of actual hab. Underbed storage can be removed if I need to haul something long inside...

modified LMTV is coming along well

Yep. We used to also weight each corner. It's part of the equation as well for baseline. Once the coil overs were correct (which we don't really have expect on the A1R tucks, and it's a very different scenario since they are expecting a crapton of armor installed) then you would start tuning...

WHO' S A FULL TIME LMTV OVERLANDER, ANY OUT THERE?

I did a mockup in my habitat using wood. Camped in it dozens of times, adjusting as I needed. Same concept, I reckon...

    Just Another 1088 Overland Build

Nice work. Looking forward to the build out. *btw: the lifting points that slide out are just for lifting. When they do an airdrop, as far as I know they would only toss the airdrop versions (M1081 or M1093). These have the fold-down cab that allows them to be fit onto a skid. Not a...

RESOLVED: Dash gauge issues when CTIS plugged in?

See image I posted. Like that? That is OEM install.

RESOLVED: Dash gauge issues when CTIS plugged in?

    Here's what's on my 2008 (w/C7) It's actually green.

    AC Option?

I hate you ! ;p Seriously, this is part of the equation for one option so it is important. Most owners are running the 100a alt, so an alt swap would be in order. And given the dual voltage Niehoffs do tend to fail (and are *grossly* underpowered for our trucks) swapping to a 24v and then...

    M1079 Captive Spring images

Rgr that. I've no current plans to pull mine but I may disconnect and lift it when I do my plumbing. Or perhaps next time I run the air out to do something, I will knock one off. I know that the spring specs come up all the time, so if I do I will have the local spring place spec it out for me.

Didn't you pull your box off that 1079 you had/have?

    M1079 Captive Spring images

I assume you got your pictures after all this time. I do have shots of them mounted.

    M1079 Captive Spring images

I was kidding. That's a spring off the front coilover from one of my prerunners. ;)

    AC Option?

Hmmm May have to do some cypherin' Product Code: N1224-1 NSN: 2920015592715 Voltage: 28/14 Output (Amps): 260/140 Dual Voltage: Yes Mounting Configuration: Hinge Mount Regulator Options: N3221 Regulator Configuration: External

    AC Option?

I would like more info on the 260a Niehoff. There is so little out there on the A1R trucks (especially electrical) and I honestly had no idea it even came with the 260a until I got it home.
