When ever you have a gauge problem, FIRST, check the wires. Make SURE, check it not just twice, but three times, check to see if the wires are hooked up at the right terminals. Over the years, I found most gauge problems were because someone hooked up the wires wrong. And don't check just the...
The incident occurred on the eastbound A6 ‘autobahn’ in the southeastern German state of Bavaria. Have not heard anything on the news yet, but was in Graf yesterday, and heard soldiers talking about it. I heard, and this is to be taken with at least 3-4 grains of salt, that the truck was going...
Read the TM on vacuum checking. It also shows you how to build a cheap manometer. If you find that the second gen set has a bad engine, here is what would do. Take the oil filler cap off, drill a hole through it, and stick a copper tube through it, and seal it with a good adhesive. Hook up your...
Yes sir! I would have guessed winch sheer pin. Having had to replace a few over the years on active. That was my first thought. Three weeks ago, I had to unwind a rats nest like that, But it was a Hyd. winch, and had not sat more then two years. Took 4-4.5 hours, and I wanted to bring the torch...
Look in the crate. Often the TM gets shipped with a rebuilt engine. I think the ENDT 673 was rebuilt at TEAD. I knew someone back in the early 70's, he and his Father, who worked at TEAD used to buy up surplus engines at TEAD and repurposed them into water pumps.
I don't think there are any dimensionally accurate drawings of the bed available.
Well, actually there is. But we cant get at them, unless you know someone in TACOM. So if anyone knows a TACOM Rep, you could ask. The last one I knew, retired last year.
I THINK, the TM for the repair of the engine is: TM 9-2815-207-35. I looked a bit around, did not see one anyplace, but did not look real long. And Silverstate is correct. The model # is what tells you need for TM's.
Do I need to worry about dragging the rotor on the stator?
Should I get an engine hoist to help lift the stator as I drag it forward?
Yes, you need to be careful about that.
You have removed the vibration dampers on the Main gen?
You have removed or relocated everything that might hang up the...
This is a forum to upload TM's. I will move your thread to the right place. The T.O. for this Air Force gen set is restricted. We can not post it in the forum.
If the selenium rectifier ever burns up on you, you will smell rotten eggs. This is a sign to move sharply away from the truck, as the fumes are poisonous.
You charged the batteries, are the connections tight?
Did you remove the battery connection to charge the batteries?
Did you TEST the batteries? Load test them?
Remove the connections, and test each battery separately.
Are they the batteries that came with the set? Are they new?
What...
One step at a time. One step at a time. You are getting there. Even though it seems like it one step forward, and two backwards, in the end, you will have the truck YOU want.
