    VALVE STEMS QUESTION

Yeah, I realized you were talking about duals after I made the post originally. As I said though, if it's just for a spare, then make sure the spare is aired up like it's supposed to be, and worry about the valve stem and such after you get back from the job and get the tire that was there...

    VALVE STEMS QUESTION

Depends a little on what rim they are going in, but for general use I like Colby Valve stems. (I won an emergency valve pack at an event last year and carry them around with me. Won't work for my HMMWV wheels, but if nothing else I can help someone else out.) A little pricey, but cheap...

    Packard Connectors

I'll second this. Lube makes life so much easier if you plan on connecting more than once in a lifetime.

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

I decided to order one because I'm waiting on a couple other things to finish this out anyway. Do you know if the holes needed for the rear bracket are already in the fender or am I going to be playing this by ear trying to figure out where to drill all these new holes in the fender? I'm...

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

Looked in TM 9-2320-387-24p and came up with a part number for the bracket, 6015674. Every search I do for that part number comes up with a non metallic grommet. So did a search for the description on a couple of the parts sites, finally came up with 6015665 as the part number for the left rear...

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

So one thing I didn't know/realize is that the condenser can't be used with the deep water fording kit because the reinforcement bracket is in the way of installing it. Not a big deal as I don't plan on going through deep water, and it was starting to get kind of beaten up anyway because of how...

Utah HMMWV recovery, Helmet Hard top install, and build.

doubt you broke the stud from pressure. More likely at some point someone over tightened it or assembled it wrong or something like that. I run my 12 bolt MTs at 40-45PSI. Then again, I'm also an M1123 (heavy variant A2 truck) and have 2000+ pounds of shelter and gear in the back most of the...

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

So I just got in a fender mounted A/C condenser to install in the left rear fender. There are a couple things that I need some assistance with. Does anyone know the dimensions for the bracket to hold up the rear of the condenser? I suppose I can just do some measurements of the condenser...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

sweet smell, bubbles in coolant, disappearing coolant together definitely sounds like a head gasket to me.

Utah HMMWV recovery, Helmet Hard top install, and build.

Two schools of thought. 1) tires are no good after a certain age, rubber oxidizes and whatnot. 2) Run them til they actually fail or show signs that they are going to. It also depends on what you plan to do with them. If all you will ever do is drive on pavement and keep the tire pressure...

    Wiper Extension

Nah, I'll keep them so I can put armored windshields in later after the apocralypse happens. But that's only if I can figure out where I put them. Amazing how many things I can misplace in a week.

    Tires other than Military MTRs

if you don't care about things like safety, then you can run anything you want. It's recommended though by pretty much every tire manufacturer and the department of transportation that you only run the tires designed for a specific type/size of rim. So according to them, only use 16.5 inch...

    Wiper Extension

Doh. Well, I didn't see it. I'd imagine if installed properly it faces down so you can't really see it when working from above. I do know mine came off without too much difficulty though. Didn't cause any damage that I could tell, or that affects putting the wiper arms back on.

    What is this?

makes me think of the drivers enhanced vision system, maybe an additional monitor mount for the passenger side? Looks like it's designed to fold up/down as needed, and has some cable connectors. Some type of monitor/display anyway.

    Wiper Extension

it's just pressed on. I used a couple of claw hammers to pry it off. Just be careful not to slip and hurt your windshield glass. I ran mine for a half year with the extension in place, it didn't seem to affect wiper performance.

    BEOD Mounting

I used a sprayer. I really don't like painting, so wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. This is the basic model of sprayer I used. Used about a gallon and a half to paint the truck and the BEOD. Didn't do the inside of the truck or BEOD, but did do the top of the fenders and a...

What are these parts called ?

In TM 9-2320-280-24P-2 figure 403 it shows the troop bench seats with brackets that look like those attached to the back, I think that's what you're talking about. diagram numbers 1, 5, 6, 21, and 22. It just lists them as "retainer assembly, bow vehicular" Part numbers are different for left...

Pintle extension using A2 Airlift reinforcement plate or not?

That combination of the spare tire carrier and pintle extension looks pretty good.

    BEOD Mounting

So the paint darkens up quite a bit in the first 24 hours when it dries. Here you can see where I touched up a few areas I didn't get covered well enough on the first pass. Then here is with the doors on. The BEOD seems to be a little darker than the HMMWV and less sheen, not sure why but...
