I went Sat to pick up the M123E2 I bought in GA,Clinto,Rdixiemiller and a friend of theirs came by to help in the recovery of this monster,(I don't think I could have done it without them! Thanks many times.)Here are a few pics,Clinto took some also hopefully he will post his. Thanks again guys...
Cummins definetly,Mack engine if avaliable,I'd have to pass on the 5 ton multi.I've had all three, true the 250 drinks a bit more but you have 240 hp and 700 ft/lbs of torque to pull your 5 ton tractor, cargo, wrecker or what have you.Just my 2cents
Well,I'm out of the bidding,my limit was $500.Can't justify going to MD ($700 fuel)+cost of trailer($540+)and buyers premium+sales tax for a trailer that has no ramps, wheel covers, floor or spare.Plus no title since it's being sold as scrap.Plus one has to have a overwidth permit to move it...
I'm bidding on this trailer at Ft Meade, anyone close that can go look at it?PM me if you can. Here's the add, http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=1073949&convertTo=USD
My Deuce is the infamous "Oddball",my 816 wrecker is called "General Nuisance",and the 123 has recieved the tag"Big Iron".One of my M37s had "The Terminator"stenciled on it,(well before Arnold made the name famous),and the last M123 I brought home had"Bad Company"hand lettered on the hood.
THESE 10 TONS KEEP HUNTING ME DOWN!!!!!!Found 2 more M123A1Cs this weekend!1 had a house hooked to it(and a for sale sign in the window)and the other was hooked to a tub grinder(also had a for sale sign). Both appear to be running and fully driveable, truck # 2 was missing it's winch and...
Well, went to Ballground GA today and bought another M123,just did save it from the torch,it was scheduled to be cut up in the next few weeks. It's a 1969 Mack M123E2,basically a rolling chassis, has 8 good tires though.I'll probably restore this one and turn the other into a parts truck.
timtrucks,
Try this, disconnect the suction line from the outlet side of the fuel filter and drop it into a CLEAN bucket of fuel, then try and start it.If it starts and runs OK check for an air leak around your tank switching valve. If it still runs badly/stalls and your valve/injectors are set...
I definetly agree on keeping the towbar as short as possible,as I have destroyed 2 moving the GOER around the yard.Towed trucks can be backed just remember when the towed vehicle quits moving,STOP PUSHING!!!It tends to break the towbar off at the lunette ring or at best bend it severely.
I don't believe it has a drum clutch,on my 123A1C it is power in/out only as is the rear winch on the M62,M543,and M816.They are the same winch just different mounting of the level wind and tensioner.
Well judging by the fact that your two Abnormally high particulate levels are iron and lead, bearings could be a possibility.I read these things all the time at work as we are required by our Equipment Management System to take samples of every fluid in all our heavy mining equipment at specific...
When I brought my M52 home, air compressor line froze up(it was 28 deg and snowing)at the crest of Black mountain in WNC.Lost all my air press and could not stop to cure the problem,a friend was following me down and said I hit 75mph before I got to the bottom(5 miles later),5 tons don't handle...
Well, got the pass side inner and outer fender off today, got the valve cover loose only to discover that it won't come past the P/S resevoir.Cranked it over again, just for the heck of it and the tapping noise seemed much less pronunced. It also seemed to turn over much easier today,it started in...
