I agree with a couple other posts here. If you can pick it up at the scrap metal price you can get it home and look it over to see exactly what condition it's in. If it's more than you care to tackle then part it out and make a couple bucks.
When you check the other axle bearings, also check the axle nut torque. Hi-way breakdowns are my nightmare, because Nevada has so many hi-ways in the middle of nowhere. Nice that you didn't have a lot of damage.
