Anyone here own the m1008 on adventure week?

I've been watching adventure week on motor trend's Youtube channel and saw a sweet m1008 with a trailer bed on it. Just wondering if that person is on here as I'd like to read more about it. There's also an m37 and a flat fender jeep on the trip. Here's the first video...

    Seat Belts

I replaced mine with brand new hmmwv belts I got from ebay. I think they were $30-40 for the set. Give me a second and I'll find the thread.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Removed the antenna mounts to gain some trail clearance. I need all I can get between the trees. The smilie face it made after removing is how I feel on how it looks though

    Torque Converter Question

I forgot to follow up. This is the one I got. GM6 is the part number. It's been working great and stalls the same as the original. Make sure you grab enough trans fluid, I think I ended up using close to 14 quarts with a trans cooler...

    Torque Converter Question

I ordered a stock replacement torque converter from oreilly. It was around $90 and feels just like the original it replaced. Unfortunately their site is down so I can't get the part number.

    M1009 trans problems!

That's exactly how it felt. I was going to drop the pan tomorrow and see what it looks like in there. I'm wondering if its a pressure issue or if something let go inside the converter. Depending on what I find in the pan/filter, is the converter something I can change without a full rebuild...

    M1009 trans problems!

Fluid level is normal and the color is a nice red with no smell.

    M1009 trans problems!

Well was on the way to the furniture store and while slowing down for a light, the truck started to chug like it was going to die and was making a grinding noise, I was able to quickly get off onto a side street and by the time I came to a stop it died. It felt the same as when you don't release...

Moved to denver. Anything I should do for the elevation change?

Hey all, I just moved from Chicago to Denver and was wondering if there was anything in particular I should do for the elevation change? I plan on driving some trails a bit higher than denver (about 8k feet) or so. I've seen reference to a high altitude trans modulator valve. Anything IP...

Driving my m1009 from Chicago to denver tomorrow 6/12

I had to leave my m1009 at my folks house a few months ago when I moved from Chicago to Denver (turns out it was too wide for any available trailer I could rent). I was finally able to get back to Chicago to make the 1,000 mile trip back to denver in it. I'm both excited and nervous. I figure...

    Humvee seatbelts in M1009?

My stock belts had the same type of tab as the hmmwv ones so no small hole was needed on my 85.

    Humvee seatbelts in M1009?

http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/boltkit.html This is where I got them. The A904L bracket. I originally was going to use 2 (one on each side of the female end) but after looking at the stock mount I decided 1 was probably stronger than original anyways and it saved me from drilling...

    Humvee seatbelts in M1009?

I have a set in mine for the exact same reason. The retractor side needs to be opened up a tiny bit for the stock bolt. The female side I used a 90* bend bracket and a grade 8 bolt with washers. It's a very easy "upgrade". I got mine off a certain popular auction site for $18 a set. Make an...

HMMWV tach on CUCV signal calculations

I was able to use the brown wire attached to the drivers alternator to run a vdo diesel tach, it has a built in potentiometer to fine tune it.

Yet another CUCV charging issue: overcharging

I had the same issue with my gen 1 alternator. I replaced the voltage regulator and all was fixed.
