I actually already have a bore hone for wheel cylinders that I got years ago, which should work. Since there are two separate and opposite bores to hone, I can reach each from different sides of the top cover. I'm optimistic that I can save the part. I'm going to start the process tomorrow...
I'm now back on the FLU419 Intermediate Speed Control problem. I couldn't get the end plug out of the top cover until I found a 24 mm hex plug socket. I ordered one from Home Depot with 3 days delivery and it has never arrived after weeks of waiting. I ordered another from another vendor and...
The problem with LiFePO4 batteries is you can't charge them in cold weather, they won't charge at all below 32 deg F. If you try to charge them in cold weather, you will get lithium plating and ruin the battery. To charge them in cold weather, you need to first warm up the battery. This...
You will like the M715. I spent a lot of hours driving around in a 715 in the Army in Germany in the early 70s. They are a great off-road truck as well.
I have an A3 and love it. It gets significant use, both off-road and on-road. I especially love the hydraulic winch. I've had mine for 12 years now and the only significant failure was a replacement alternator last year. I still have the CTIS installed and it works perfectly, although I...
I've now discovered the problem with my Intermediate Speed Control. The piston in the actuator is completely seized up. I removed the actuator and the cover on one end of the actuator, along with the pin that moves the gears, but I haven't been able to get the M48X1.5 hex plug on the other end...
I would recommend using the A3 beadlock inserts like HDN has pictured. The A3 wheels and beadlocks are designed to be used with each other. They are very easy to remove, and installation is easy with a ratchet strap.
I was told by Allison that the transmission was designed for Dexron 3 and that any other ATF, including Dexron VI, would degrade the O-rings and seals in the transmission, and cause premature failure. I'm running Dexron 3 in my A3 and it was a significant improvement over the motor oil...
I found some of this hose on Ebay years ago sold by the foot and it was real cheap at the time. I also replaced the short piece on the outside of the air cleaner from a different vendor on Ebay a few months ago. I think I paid ~$20.00 for the short piece with free shipping.
I have several gallons of DOT 5 I purchased on Ebay for a cheap price. When I see it advertised with a low price, I buy it. My local auto parts stores all carry DOT 5 in stock, but the price is very high.
The M1030M1 USMC diesel motorcycle sold for $16,500.00 plus a Buyers Premium of 10% for a total of $18,150.00. I am very pleased with this result as my M1030M1 looks better than the one that sold on Mecum and I have no idea how well the Mecum Auction bike ran. Mine runs perfect. Plus, I...
There is an M1030M1 featured on Mecum Auction in Houston April 13 - 15. Not sure what date it will be sold. It will be interesting to see how much it goes for with such high publicity. Still not interested in selling mine.
I know you stated that the brake lights stay on after the pedal is released, but do the brakes stay on after the pedal is released. If the brakes don't stay on, I would suspect a faulty brake light switch.
You should keep the trailer as is. It is a very nice trailer and the surge brakes work great and are significantly better than no brakes. Just get a pintle hitch for your 2" receiver. Pintle hitches are much more secure than ball hitches. If the hitch on the towing vehicle is too low, you...
