The cdl is not that hard to get.
Personally I do not drive vehicles home from gl because you do not know the condition or issues and the vehicle has probably sat for a year to cycle through the system. Better safe than sorry.
Use stainless steel cable to minimize the rust.
The clips them selves should be available from macmaster Carr. Actually they have ready made retainer cables
You can find the cable and furrels at home depot. I use wire cutters to crimp the small ones because they are aluminum, just do not use to much force or you can cut them
The mt643 is a great trans but it is a lot heavier and larger than you trans. The mt643 was made for a class 8 truck with an max gvw around 75000. Your trans is made for a smaller and lighter truck.
The best route is probably to have your trans rebuilt.
That bike does look cool. At a recent air show we were next to a dealer that was selling them but my says nothing with two wheels, and an engine, or that flys so she is taking the fun out of it. What is going to follow me home next.
