I have no doubt that the batteries you are getting are new and at a very good price. I was referring to people selling NOS Hawker Armasafe batteries which tend to be a little "long in the tooth" in some cases.
In the past, I've checked on some "new" Hawker Armasafe 6TAGM batteries for sale on Ebay and maybe on here as well - I can't remember, but the price was excellent. However, when I asked for the date of manufacture, they were always 3 - 5 years old, or they wouldn't tell me. EnerSys, the...
I used a very large pry bar and it came over it very easily on all the tires. I did pour tire lube over the area before prying, however. No damage to any tires. I was very lucky in that I inherited a lot of truck tire changing tools from my Grandfather that date back to the 1930s. Very handy...
If you are careful there is minimal risk of damaging anything doing the dismount with tractor forks. I've done several tires this way and not had any problems.
I just purchased two new Odyssey PC2250ST / 6TAGM batteries for my FLU 419 in July. Odyssey batteries are made by the same company that makes the Hawker Armasafe 6TAGM batteries and have the exact same specifications. The batteries are red instead of green, but who cares.
On August 10, I contacted the park by telephone and told them I was part of the GA Military Vehicle Rally and wanted to reserve a Yurt. The lady told me at that time that the last Yurt had been reserved, so I reserved SR48 campsite instead. It sounds like their reservation system is screwed...
When you start the goat with the cable to your M151, leave the cable connected. With the cable still connected, are your instruments, lights, etc functional? If so, I would suspect your batteries or a damaged cable. Just because you can measure the correct voltage with the multimeter, doesn't...
The Gillespie paint is great, but I agree about the crappy nozzles Rapco used to supply. The two nozzles I used to get from Rapco were different for two different spray patterns, which was nice. I also wrapped the cans with paper towels when spraying and wore gloves.
Andrew,
When I cleaned the contacts on my fuse blocks, I first cleaned them with contact cleaner. I then took a dremel tool with a small circular brass wire brush and cleaned them. I then coated the contacts with dielectric grease, as well as the fuse ends.
I just measured mine. I measured the accessible studs on all 6 wheels. They all measured 1-5/16 - 1-3/8 inches, almost all 1-3/8. It sounds like mine match the ones on your truck wheels that haven't been dismantled yet. I should have mentioned that I tighten mine as tight as they will go...
I haven't had any of my A3 tires leak air after removing and refitting. The secret is replacing the valve stem grommet and torqueing to 45- 60 Ft-Lb, using a socket that has been ground to a sharp edge to firmly grip the brass nut. I also replace all nuts with new. Then, cleaning and...
I feel your pain! When I first got my FLU419, a lot of the lights didn't work. I didn't have any damage from mice, fortunately. Cleaning the contacts in the fuse boxes and replacing 100% of the fuses fixed many of the problems. It is hard to believe that anybody would design a wiring harness...
I've used CME Arma in Miami, Florida http://cmearma.blogspot.com/?view=classic
I've also used SHR near Atlanta to rebuild a FLU419 starter and they did an excellent job and were very inexpensive. They will also rebuild military alternators. No website.
SHR Auto Electric (Sleepy Hollow...
Optima batteries are only manufactured in Monterrey, Mexico. Johnson Controls, the previous manufacturer of Optima batteries spun off that group into a company called Clarios. Clarios is headquartered in Glendale, Wisconsin, but all of their battery manufacturing is in Mexico. The Optima Red...
I'm still fighting with Optima about replacing the second Red Top battery. They absolutely agree that series connections of a 1-1/2 year old battery with a new battery will shorten the life, but they still state it isn't their policy to replace the second battery.
Things have changed. Due to the Delta Variant of the virus, my U.S. Army reunion has been postponed until next Spring. I have reserved the SR 48 campsite arriving Wed and departing Sunday.
I've had excellent luck with Interstate batteries, including 6TLs. I have Interstate AGMs in two John Deere tractors and a Triumph TR6 car. The ones in my tractors are around 8 - 9 years old and the one in the car was in it when I purchased it almost 8 years ago. All are going strong. I...
I think we are talking about two separate issues in this thread. I believe the OP was originally complaining about not being able to secure the backhoe in the latch on top. The video being discussed involves latching the boom back by quickly moving the control forward.
On my FLU when I pivot everything to the left preparing to fold it back, it moves fairly fast, but slows down and stops just short of where it needs to be to meet the latch properly when folded back. I have to repeatedly hit the pedal to get it to move all the way. Each time I press the pedal...
