Not many enough, I'm afraid. Only one lives indoors.

    Hydraulic Winch for FLU419

Well, I simply couldn't visualize a logical way to install it in the rear. Other than onto the bottom of the backhoe, in which case it would be dragging in the dirt when moving the SEE with the backhoe in working position. If someone has a better idea, I'm all for learning about it.

    Hydraulic Winch for FLU419

Funny you should mention that. I bought one several months ago, but haven't had a chance to install or try it yet. Would've preferred to mount in in the rear, but that doesn't seem feasible so it'll go in the front. Either way, the Mile Markers should work very well, being that they're made to...

Some progress to report, finally. Got to use the crane to unload a 6' snowblower. Finished the battery hold down (painted, but not waxed) and test drove the SEE. Not sure what difference the batteries could've made, but it absolutely purred. That worries me, since vehicles often run really...

    FLU419 Hydraulic filters

Unfortunately, no I don't. But most likely it was a Unimog parts supplier in Oregon, maybe Washington. If you Google "Unimog parts" that outfit should come up. That's how I found it.

    FLU419 Hydraulic filters

Fod, I was looking for filters, too, found them...and found them very expensive. Then, when changing to AW-32 and pulled them out, noticed that they look perfectly reusable. I cleaned them, as needed, and plopped them back in. Those chains are genuine Govt. anti theft devices. Not sure if they...

Skid, there's an Interco tire (Super Swamper) that fits the stock wheels (the measuring rim width is 11 inches, so it's a perfect match) with enough load rating for a SEE. Also, it's a bias tire, which eliminates much of the tire squishiness. I got the wider Pit Bull tires instead since I need...

Nothing a shorter muffler and two 90s couldn't fix, right? I've seen side-inlet mufflers, so maybe relocating the outlet on one could do the trick.

With all the other noises a SEE produces, I'm not even sure they need a muffler. If my exhaust gets creamed, it'll likely become a side exhaust, with or without a muffler. More convenient hookup for critter holes, too.

Not to deprive you from buying a TIG, but why not look at one of the larger exhaust companies' web site and pick something suitable? I'd guess it's a pretty basic muffler. Or, get a band clamp and cover the crack - one of the nice wide ones, like they use on trucks. Along the same lines (aiming...

I'll let Mr. Hood sort that part out. But, we should also be grateful that Scott (of EI fame) spotted this lot and made its existence known. Guess I need to order something to show my gratitude.

And now for something completely different (I'll try to answer you questions this evening, Skidpad). Good news everyone! Or at least for those of us craving a wall chart. General Hood is currently home-bound with what he claims are really nice, laminated, poster size schematics for the SEE...

Skid, I priced the OE shocks at a Freightliner dealer. Not pleasant. Never got around to measure them and find "regular" affordable replacements. But as I mentioned earlier, the shocks on my SEE are highly suspect, and it rides accordingly. Time will tell if mine ends up with a suspension...

Alright, I'm lazy, and I think that the connections in the axle end could be harder to undo than at the other end of the hose. Peakbagger, do you see any reason not to put the Mystery Oil in the top end of the hose? If so, once someone posts the picture of the drain plug, or I find it myself...

Bison, I'm a big fan of TrueTracs, and even more so, Detroits. Two of my Jeeps have Detroits front and rear, my home built (Jeep based) tractor has one in the rear and a TrueTrac up front. Plus about three more Detroits in other vehicles. Detroits in snow aren't necessarily any fun (depending on...

From my experience, the answer is "neither". Kinda like an AmphiCar, I suppose. Not particularly good on land, and not particularly good in water. But fun.

It's obviously helpful to get only half the vertical movement transferred to the chassis. It has allowed truckers to use Hendrickson "suspension" for decades, yet live to tell about it. It also helps with traction, but in my case the logical solution was to remove one drive axle and install a...

Are you sure it's not the air suspension at work? I love air suspension. Have it on the pickups (rear) and of course the Pete and its trailers. Even built an air ride con gear with leftover Air Leaf parts from the Pete. When time permits, a few of the regular goose necks and bumper pull trailers...

My parts SEE is missing the pawl action, too. Not high on the list of things to fix, though. Leaving the rods exposed shouldn't be a problem, unless they're already damaged in spots. I kind of did a General Hood (no, not paint or wax) and greased the exposed parts of the rods, and especially at...

That's how mine are, Bison. Once they're running you can remove all keys, and they'll still run until the hand throttle is returned to "off". Which may not be healthy for the alternator. I don't think that there's any need for anything electrical to work once they're running, and if there is...
