Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

The stock wheels have pressed centers though. MUCH stronger than flat plate.

HEMTT Wheels for Your Deuce are READY TO ROLL!

What's the offset, and did you do anything to the centers (like cut holes) that will allow you to replace those studs if necessary?

Centers cut out of stock deuce wheels? Looks good mang!

    Who Designed Alt. Bracket?

I know you're kidding, and I get what you're saying about wondering why some things are the way they are, but... I think the guys that designed these trucks did an AMAZING job. I mean, think about it. These trucks have been in service for how long now? As I'm rebuilding mine, I'm thinking about...

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

Here's a link to some H1 wheel centers that Copperhead Fabrication makes. Smaller diameter wheels and thinner plate, but I hope it illustrates my point: which is just that these wheel centers can be made for less than $250ea. Making and selling aftermarket parts to off-road enthusiasts is a...

    11.00R20's on modified HEMTT wheels

Thanks, but ideally, I'd like to use two-piece wheels that would allow me to run tubeless. I know the Canadian wheels are an option, but the backspacing on those doesn't look much better than the stock wheels I've got now.

    11.00R20's on modified HEMTT wheels

I like the specs on the Firestone T831's, but I couldn't find the recommended rim width for those tires. Can I mount them on a set of modified HEMTT wheels like CCE sells?

    now that looks better.

I'm about halfway through rebuilding and flipping the hubs on my M109. The stock wheels/tires sure look silly...

Yet another reason to hate singled directional shoed deuces.

Just for the sake of conversation, I can see how singles might affect tracking/steering while that vehicle is being towed IF the wheels have less backspacing than the dually setup. That's going to change the scrub radius, which will affect tracking/steering. but... looks like that truck is...

    Wheel studs

Just got back from NAPA and that part number (for the studs) wasn't right. After a little more searching, I found these parts numbers on pirate. Had to order the studs though, so I'm not sure if these are the right parts yet. Guess I'll find out tomorrow...

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

atankersdad- I don't know why you're getting so defensive. We're not attacking or criticizing you. I was only suggesting how YOU might be able to get them made cheaper. Take a look at all the people making and selling rockwell centers on pirate4x4. You CAN make these for a lot less. I'm just...

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

Yeah, I don't know. Lasers can hold pretty crazy-tight tolerances. I just saw a flywheel that Max Mfg. laser-cut for some HUGE application (it was at least 3-4ft in dia.). As long as all the holes are where they need to be, I don't see what else there really is to it. Maybe there's something...

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

Their prices are actually really high (at least on the few things I had them price a long time ago). I use Max Mfg. for any sheetmetal parts I need.

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

Bingo. I can't really see any reason/need to have those fully machined. If it were me, I'd look into having them laser-cut. Then you'd just need to ream and chamfer the holes. Would probably be MUCH cheaper.

    Bobbed truck, Shocks or Not?

Hell. Yeah. Put shocks on EVERYTHING. The world would be a better place.

    Wheel studs

Dangit. Dead link. What's the trick? Old.somethingorother? EDIT: here's the link, and here are the part numbers, as provided by da_sgt: Here's some NAPA #' BK 641-1615, (stud I think) BK 641-2000 (Budd Nut), and BK 641-2011. I can't remember if these are the right or left handed threads, I...

    d turbo for a c turbo

Ken, I'd love to see some pictures that might show us how we could all do something similar on our turbos.

Oil Change on the Deuce. When?

I got a 960, but I'm a little bit worried that it might pull too much oil. It sounds like the 936 might be a better choice for this application. Here's a link to a thread about them.
