I got the streaks as well. I don't know what's in the paint but initially you'll get the streaking. I took a hose to it and sprayed it down really good. The "film" that causes the streaking turned to bubbles like there was soap on the surface. After rinsing her down, she doesn't streak anymore...
Yikes! Never had that happen. Wonder what happened? Did you clean/degrease the truck really good before spraying? Definately scrap, sand, clean, dry, and repaint. Weather should be nice from Wednesday on. Wonder if the tree shade didn't allow the paint to fully dry and the morning dew had...
Surprised someone hasn't done a behind the cab mounted engine. The bed has plenty of room for some big stuff. Couldn't imagine the nightmare with all the linkages etc.
I did make my own stencils. I used the Cardstock inkjet printer paper from Walmart. I just used a hobby knife to tediously cut each letter out. The stencil on the fuel tank was a test of endurance and perserverence...LOL. I used rattle can paint for applying the stencils.
Congratulations on your truck!! Might I make a suggestion. Read up on the proper maintenance and what not to do with the SPRAG transfer case (NEVER EVER coast backwards while the truck is in REVERSE).
I used New stainless steel star washers on all the mounting holds (4 bolts on the fender, 2 bolts for mounting the light assy to the light guard). That'll help those bolts to dig into some metal to maximize ground.
Looking Good!! I did have issues with paint blobs coming out towards the end. Come to think of it, I had little blobs the entire time. Did you shoot your paint straight without dilution? I ended up putting about 2.5 gallons (3-4 coats) on the exterior and cab interior. I didn't touch the...
I had an issue with my 68. All my lights worked except the turn on the passenger side. I chased my tail for so a couple days and found it was a grounding issue.it threw me off since the parking and blackouts worked. Maybe my truck is just weird
Outstanding oddshot[thumbzup] I'm glad it worked out for you. Using the Behr has a couple benefits. As you mentioned the price is right. For me, more importantly, it is truely flat like CARC. I have the bumper on my '86 painted with Behr paint. Two years later it still looks good and is very...
Thanks, your pics are outstanding. Those decals are right on! I'm about half way done cutting my stencils. There's got to be an easier way..haha. Labor of love:D
