Even if the LOP, Low Oil Pressure switch is bad, the set should start. The S1 function, in the start position, bypasses the LOP, along with several other safety switches. So when a set can start, and the LOP is bad, you simply put the S7, (Battle short switch) in the up position, and the set...

Amperage. 24 VDC, but Series/Parallel wired. Five Tons use 4 batteries, because starting is a tad more work. And when you are on a hill top, (some would call it a mountain, but after you have seen the Rockies and Alps..........) where it often got down to -25 or -30 Cel, and snow bung hole deep...

I just love dialects. Here in Germany, its REAL bad. Sometimes two towns a few miles apart have words that are simply not understandable to folks a few miles away. Cracks me up. And when you are a foreigner, speaking dialect, Germans laugh till they fall over.

So, the set starts and runs. No output. Right? Is there 120 volts on the 120 volt outlets? Yes? Good. No, well, we need to dig deeper. Will the S5 switch, (AC output contactor switch) close the CB1, (Output contactor)? And will the DS7, (Output contactor light) come on, when you flip up S5?

We made another battery cart with 4 batteries on it. Had them hooked up, so we could jump off the 5 tons, and use all 4 batteries. If we needed to jump off a gen set, or 2.5 ton truck, we flipped a switch, and a relay cut two batteries out of the system. We could have just used a second slave...

My memory of Miles City, is not real positive. Was glad to leave and go back to God's Country, Hill City, SD.
