M62 in the city of lincoln
short film of my wrecker taking andys car to the breakers. pity he did not keep going longer. this is the other side of the cannik hill in the other vid.
The M62 wrecker working through our local village!.. sorry about the jumping pictures it really does bounce the cam about! still ..i'm sure you get the general idea lol.
pulled the sled when asked to entertain the public at the showground. the trailer ended up with the wieght all the way forward and the brakes locked up.
Truck (M54A2) with praga radio body fitted) in 2nd gear low. (the clank at the start was intentional as I wanted the sprags engaged on set off...
battery wiring
it;s simple really..IF THE VEHICLE is 24 VOLT then there are (only) TWO cables main. ONE goes to the starter motor ONE goes TO EARTH (chassis) ((bolt)). ANY other cabling is for jointing the (4) batteries in parralel. with ALL batteries(and jump cables) removed you (now) have TWO...
no oil
any oil in it?? (no seriously) if the oil filters are not blocked then something is happening at the pump..worth taking off the sump which is not a too big a job and checking the pick up screen and pump (drive) etc. keep us informed 0f the problem progress ok. and good luck.
crooked
(just the) tire? your drawing suggests the (whole) wheel is out on camber angle. as if the truck had sideswiped a kerb rock or obstacle at some point. you could have a tire or allignment shop check that angle for you. or you could do it with a long bar with two parralell pointers...
My recovery trailer
with the dolly M62 or Kraz. without the dolly M54 tractor unit. (Mini Roundabouts (doghnuts) in the middle of the road here in U.K.) Are negotiated on the same side of the road as you guys! ((the right!)) The deck "rolls" out and down for loading. (pushed by the towing...
P.s. as an after thought on "big deals"...as a (collector/enthusiasts ) historic militery vehicle..a car licence holder can (could) jump in:, hook up(oh yes?) and drive that lot///((I don't think so!)) lol..as soon as it is loaded or connected..= HGV licence required. (and a WEALTH of expeareance!).
s'pose not
"anything special" Unless you happen to be using the outfit on BRITTISH roads!! to see (or come accross)that lot negotiating the (very) narrow lanes to the steam show in devon IS "something"..jeff.... the towing truck is the Brittish ex RAF thornycroft "mighty Antar" the army used...

Sorry I could not afix this to the orriginal post as every now and then I keep getting the dreaded " you do have authority message" despite being signed in! apperantly you sometimes get "signed out" when you click post quick reply. sometimes it goes ok sometimes not. I wish there was a fix for...
Further to the wiring question. U.S. to Uk. Regs.
On the chevy lwb crew cabs. I also drill inside the front side light assemblies at the outer extremes.( where there is an unused white portion) and fit a 6watt lamp holder and run the cut green to this. and I also( prefer to) run a splice from...
Answers to wiring lights question
The mods to wiring..(a) cut rear light harness swap greens. Now lturns signal without the brake lights operating at same time. Brakes = brakes. (no flash) flash flashes no brake light unless size nines on the stop pedal! they are now independant. and yellow...
Believe it or not there is a jeep on an A bar towed by the praga behind the Kraz!....and the radio body on that praga of mine is now on my REO 5ton. (in the avatar.) great drive..gets looks..Ideal spaciouse camper for shows.
We use voltswagon golf headlight shell backs..and (flat) glass (which fit M series straight in) and contenental 24V 90/100 watt prefucus bulbs. (easy and cheap to change ) instead of sealed beams. see PLENTY well and are adjusted low and curtiouse as the speed driven is well withen thier range...
P.p.s.
the local police at the shows when we do the cruise round (seaside towns) ASK us to have ALL "bells ,dinger's, gongs sirens, and lights flashing for the...(entertainment of) the public..quite gratifying..that..
