There won't be anything there that will hurt the engine...unless all the oil was sucked out and pushed thru the engine. It will smoke blue for a bit 'till you run it long enough th burn the oil out of the pipes. The reason the oil smells so bad is that it is burnt from the failed turbo bearing...
Garp is correct. They are prone to failure at a rapid rate. There are check valves and relays and wiring involved. The NHC builds OP in a very resonable ammount of time. I would say nay on it.
We installed a mess of these on UPS trucks that were loosing cams overnight. They are a joke with the original relay and timer. Maybe 3 seconds before the starter engages. If you were to install a switch that you could manually turn the pump on, that might be OK. I think it would be a waste of...
There is a way to measure the crankcase pressure, the procedure is in one of the manuals, but, I have never found a published spec for it, or, if it is measured with an orificed fitting off of the blow by tube or just comming off of the oil filler/dipstick tube and leave the BB tube open. There...
The #2 V-100 is definatley at the ASMH in So. El Monte. It is a runner and is driven frequently....Just was hangin' out with it today! Still LAPD blue and still has the LAPD stencils inside. Driver, Good stuff. I enjor the reading and history you are providing.
FMJ,
Is there oil in the wet tank? There is supposed to be a filter in the little cannister on the intake of the compressor. On some trucks that had the filter on the intake, I heve seen oil spit out if the were no filter installed in the can.
Guess it depends on who/how it was assembled the last time it was apart! I had the rear axles with LH and RH on the same side and the 105 was swapped left to right. Makes for a confusing time removing things for the first itme
Recognize thia place?
Still hashing out dates with other events, trying to see if I can make everything fit.
The pic with the white stuff was taken Saturday AM.
Nay on the 15 inch GM drums. The drum on the 105 is almost that. IMHO, you'd be better off getting an M101 or a 416. At 2700# and then adding wood to that, that is a bit much for a half tonner.
