Its sealed. Having said that, if its broke, you can not make it "broker". About 50 years ago, I took one apart. Its more work then it was worth. I just wanted to see what was in it. Then tossed it out.
Its really a sad affair. I am retired, ( :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:) The guy helping me, is 62. I am 68. We climb all over the roof, sitting up the holders for the PE cell panels, running the wires and bolting the PE panels down. When we need muscle, my kids come over...
So far, I have not fallen off the roof. Been a few moments that I was feeling like free fall, but it was all my burned out brain. Oh, and one time the hand rail came unhooked on the third level of scaffolding. That took 2-3 years off my life.
This is about the most underrated test equipment in the history of man. Back in the day, that's all we had, and it works great. Simple, easy and handy. Any fool can make one. My first was a dash light socket from a M-35 truck. one lead was 6 feet of wire attached to one lead on the socket, with...
None. And that may be the problem. Got to work out on a roof, 45 degree pitch, tile, and maybe it will be wet in the morning. Need to have all my stuff in one pile before doing that.
Just in case:

Part #'s
12414619 BAE
19999220 OSHKOSH
SBC-4401E-1 AMETEK & PRESTOLITE
Org. Cost $26.25
Did you use all these part numbers to look in the net? Both AMETEK & PRESTOLITE have them on hand. Did not look any farther.
I would unhook the batteries, and hook a GOOD charger to them. Full charge them, and then do or have done, a battery load test, to tell me if its a battery problem. If they test out good, well, that means you need to look someplace farther. But this is an easy way to KNOW the condition of your...
We used to have a gen set, a 52300. It was a 45KW, 400 hertz set. They were older then dirt. Great sets. But the Army was getting rid of them. They had lots of problems, but it was always penny anti stuff. I only saw one engine destroy itself. And it had max help from a guy who simply went over...
I would think that between 10-15 thousand 5 & 10 KW gen sets were procured. Most go to units and get used. Some, go into storage, for use later on. Some go into storage in a Supply activity, waiting for someone to drop a requisition. Some go into storage, like on board ships, waiting for a...
If you wanted to put a aux fuel or water tank under the floor, what Dimensions do you have to work with? There are some generator sets that have set tanks, (Belly Tanks) made of Stainless or very tough plastic, that are very nice. We put one under a M105 trailer, that we built up for field life...
Can you blame a unit? The MEL lets them get something new, instead of continuing to run and support something that is on its way out, and repair parts are no longer being procured.
Gen sets are not to be idled. They should never run with less the 60 hertz on the meter.
Or do you mean its been run, without supplying a load. Some how that rings wrong. Someone turned the diode around. By accident or on purpose.
On REFORGER 1975, we were out in a damp, cold location. It was 02:00. One of the COMMO NCO's, (not well known for his intelligence) went out to refuel the 10 KW gas driven gen sets. As it was dark, and he was too lazy to get a flashlight, he used his Bic lighter to find a fuel can. But he did...
You had a First Shirt that was on the ball. And a lazy Platoon. Sgt. Art.15 should be the VERY last resort to corrective actions, sometimes referrd to as "Attitude Adjustment".
