Look at deks pics..shows I run 1200x20 on m35 and 1400x20 on m54 ..leess noticable power?? , NO! ..better cruise less engine rpms & stress ..and better ride and steer +t urn circle IF you go "singles" as I have done on both M54 and M35..P.S. LOOKS GREAT TOO!

sounds like propshafts..friend of mine did not line up the knuckles on a refitt..tho the american ones..dont line up incorrectly?..with chassis jacks and or wheels removed and chassis chocked...bet that would disply the probem....OTHER SYMPTOM CAUSE..Winch in gear!...(adjustment out)..does that...

and IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE SHOTS of modification look in PHOTO GALLERY "deks collection" thats on My M54A2 ..the M45 AND M35A2 are same also...OILpresure gauges on ALL my trucks now "solid" line capillery type.
regarding shortning housing...parted e'm off with an angle grinder,then "faced em" on a flat plate with grind paste! bolts cut down and re welded with threaded portion.
I used 2 B all of an edgy waiting 4 oil prssure climb ! NO MORE! cut down the oil filters to 2" yep! 2"..small element in those, and WHAM! insta oil presh !. (oh..and 120lb SOLID line gauges on both my M35/M54/ )..NOW im both sure AND happy!.........converting my M45 same ..next project.
oil is prssured thro the rocker shaft..and lubes "tappets"etc..varies from engine to engine..mine has oil a plenty milling about in that region..But will run with cover off little splash over. (i'd be quite happy with more!)

have a look in photo gallery "deks collection" rear shot past firetruck is the M35 NOT the M54! :pic of wheel mod is one M35 a2front and (one) M54a2 front to show FRONT WHEELS" kicked out" to the max!! on BOTH trucks ALL WHEELS (now) run IN LINE. on...

a quick p.s. Brittish millitary tyres have higher side walls as a rule..and so my ride hieght is increased more than U.S. equivelants.

From a lorry scrap yard..there were 7 of them NEW on AEC millitant combatt wheels.."gimme £60 quid for the lot" sez the guy..pointing to..(sit down please!).40 (YES FORTY!!) 9.50x16.5 goodyear & firestone military tyres..same pile!!"dunno what THEY fit"...
The fronts look on orriginall track?...I "kicked" ALL mine (front and rear) out 4"..and fitted 1200x20s..less rpms..better cruise..turn circle AND apearence..(stance)!
