In my quest to find NOS shear pins, I have come across a pair of pins for the M819 and M543 rear 45,000 lb winch. They are NSN 5315-00-282-2583 (bag marked 5315-282-2583).
I have no use for them and will trade for 3-lever light switch in any condition as long as the levers are present or $10.00...
The big thing about any of these systems is to be able to recover/store energy from braking, that's what produces the high MPG figures IMHO.
With hydraulic fluids, which are incompressible, a gas must be compressed within the accumulator, maybe an air powered vehicle is next in line, as in...
About tapping a possible stuck fuel plunger....keep in mind that 3 times for every crankshaft rev, the cam is high and tapping the plunger would not be a good idea unless the postion of the cam is known....in other words, check the timing marks on the damper for clues.
Also, when the plug is...
What does the exhaust look like when you are cranking, if any? If there is no exhaust at all, then there is no fuel and proceed as suggested by Will above.
The M50 water tanker also had an exhaust diverter for keeping the water from freezing and an additional linkage from the transfer mounted PTO to the fuel injection pump to keep the rpm from changing when the PTO driven pump was loaded down. Unique features, that some folks on this forum may be...
While in Korea, we jumped from Hueys. You ride with your feet on the skids and take turns jumping off from each side to make it easier for the pilot to keep steady. Here my buddies are getting ready, six guys plus the jump master on each flight.
The dot in the distance is a Huey, I have more...
RE: Re: a reeeeaeeeealllll dumb question...
That's why we should take extra special care about keeping our multifuel engines, they were way ahead of its time (snip below from 1959).
I love my multies, in the deuce and the 8x8......
Re: a reeeeaeeeealllll dumb question...
Like Tom said, all diesels are basically multifuel engines, however, the military spec multifuel was designed to run on four different fuels or mixtures of those without any change in power output. The fuels have different BTU values, gasoline the lowest...
RE: Re: RE: Question about diesel fuel in the crankcase
I'm aware of those O-rings, don't see how they are involved in sealing fuel out, need to take another look....
The spring loaded plunger rides on a cam, no fuel on that side.
