Yes, it can easily be pulled.
The Arrow and marked tooth must line up as shown in image below before the head can be pulled up.
Note: Do not turn the engine over after head is pulled, that would upset the timing.
Replace the plug in the head as soon as possible to reduce chances of dirt entry.
RE: Re: Forty Below Zero Deuce
I'm okay with the hot water "plate", got one from Joe Young, just curious about the type of insulation used, polyethylene?
I have a surplus one, probably the 3002AD or AE (the tag is roughed up), but it has the fan on the pulley side.
I don't know if it's a good one or not, but I guess I can let it go. The mounting ears are good. How much is it worth to you Mark?
Shipping weight is 35lb.
The start button operates the starter relay, which in turns energizes the solenoid. The current carried by the start button contacts is about 1/4 amp with an inrush of several times that, just about any momentary contact switch will do the job.
Like Jake suggests, the start button is probably...
Re: RE: Heater--what could be done with it?
Hmmm..the 8x8 has two heaters, one is installed vertically and one horizontally. I have seen something about an "equalizer tube" on some control valves, which may have something to do with the mounting position...something else to investigate..... :?
Hi Ernie, do you have any further info on the type of insulation used? It's virtually impossible to find an arctic kit for the 8x8, so I'm using odd parts to make up for missing pieces.
I have some yellowish liner from an M923 battery box, but I think it's more for absorbing electrolyte spills.....
I have the same problem Gerhard, but here is a link

My '68 M49A2C fuel tanker came from Camp Lejeune, NC with 4-color camo and numbers as described above. I'll dig up some photos from its first arrival home in 1995, meanwhile, here is an image of the hood and door stenciling now, same as original except there was a "frame" around the door number...
I would think that with the proper accessories, heat any vehicle. I have a similar, if not the same (30,000 BTU) unit, in my 8x8 and love it.
What's the part number?
Luis, how old are your tires, I get a lot of grader, backhoe and tractor type hits when searching for those numbers? Generally, not for highway use......then again, the 16-20 tires on my 8x8 are not DOT approved either.
David, I have to ask, which truck and what does the TM show? The duct work is usually on the crew compartment side of the firewall for easy control.
Where are you driving?
Right, it's a "self issued" 35Watt 24 to 12 volt linear regulator, built from scrap parts. It is difficult to build them economically in small quantities, so if anybody wanted one, I'd have to charge $35 or so, it is fully encapsualted.
The input can vary from about 14 to 30 volts with a...
The feed to the horn circuit breaker comes from the battery. I have several additional circuit breakers added from that same feed for some features, like the headlight by pass switch.
For the intercom and a point of load, 24 to 12 volt power supply (for the CB and a fuel temp gauge), I use the...
