    Steering help

Ditto. If you hit something with a wheel, even something small, it will cause the wheel to spin exactly as you described. That's why you never get your fingers or hands inside the spokes. You can break an arm, etc. I learned my lesson years ago with a dislocated thumb. Also, if you have the...

    Not starting

You mentioned that you had the problem before replacing the starter. Unless your luck is extremely bad and you are experiencing two bad starters, you need to look elsewhere. I hope you didn't dispose of the original starter, because it is probably still good. Start by removing all battery...

Anybody Compile A3 Years By Serial Number?

My A3 has a VIN of 503726. Axel and most other date codes are mostly early 98 and the winch hydraulics are dated 12/97. I registered it as a 98. After S/N 504923 in 1998, all trucks produced had composit hoods.

    Cab Soft Top Installation

I use a very thin film of Vaseline on the rubber. If everything is lined up properly, it should slide in without difficulty. I always start at the drivers side, but that's not important. For the door channels, sometimes the fabric will overhang the rubber and try to go into the channel as...

    new 35A3 owner FYI

nopics You can get a good idea of the re-manufacture date by looking at the date codes on the axles and anywhere else you can find them. That is the date I used for registration purposes. Have fun with your truck.

EUC cleared in 21 days First one! Recovery today!

Good luck on the recovery! Check out the brakes - the most important part of the truck. Have fun!

    m35a3 CTIS

Mine is very difficult to get to. I would recommend removing it, taking it apart and cleaning everything thoroughly. If it does have a gasket, which it most likely does, you can make a new gasket. If it can't be repaired, replace it with a new pressure relief valve.

Official 2011 SS Ga Rally Info thread

Best to bring flip-flops for that shower. Anyone see the chocolate candy with nuts scattered around on the wet floor in the puddle by the toilet last year? I almost ran out the door until I figured out what it was!

Hard to shift OUT of 3rd.

I would change the oil out in any event for GL-1. In my opinion, this probably won't help, but it should be changed anyway and you can look for metal fragments in the drained oil. Then, assuming the drained oil is clean, try the shift tower offered by 91W350.

    M35A3 Questions?????

    1. Don't buy a new tach until you diagnose the problem. 2. The most likely cause for the tires losing air is leaky grommets under the valve stems where the seal to the wheels. The o-rings could also be leaking. This is a very common problem. 3. There is nothing missing where you are looking. The...

    M35A3 Air Pressure Problems

All compressors on M35A3s are supposed to have that modification. Look at thread Installing the Pressure Relief Valve on the M35A3 . What you are looking at is the 4820-01-490-1773 pressure safety relief valve. MWO 9-2320-386-20-2 covers the installation. All M35A3s were required to have...

    M37 Brake Question

I drove several M37s while in the Army and one owned by a friend. The only thing I remember about the brakes was that they all had a very hard pedal. Are you planning on bringing it to the GA Rally?

    Changing fuel filter on cat

I have to tell you that when I changed the fuel filter on my A3, I had a lot of problems getting it to run again. After changing the filter, it started right up and ran for about 10 seconds and died. It took a total of about ten minutes of cranking before it would start again. The ten minutes...

Need help with 12v trailer lights

I should have mentioned also that the set of magnetic lights I purchased at Northern Tool were wired to the plug incorrectly. I took them back but all of their sets were wired incorrectly. I cut the wires and reconnected the plug correctly. No problems after that. There was a schematic that...

    tire wearing uneven

I think they were about $55.00 each. They were bright yellow. Once I painted them they looked identical to the original military shocks. I should mention that I called Monroe and told them I needed shocks for an M35A2 and they gave me the correct ones to order.

    tire wearing uneven

It is quite commmon for passenger side front tires on a deuce to wear like that, especially on W/W trucks due to the extra weight. The right front tire on my A2 W/W was really wearing badly. Someone recommended new shocks and I absolutely did not believe that could be the cause. My alignment...

Need help with 12v trailer lights

You can also replace the 12V bulbs in your magnetic light set with 24V bulbs. Then, you don't need relays and the whole setup is much simpler.
