I'm curious to follow your garage setup. I was thinking this year, but have put off to next year, of buying property. Just want to see what you did/direction you went.
True, but the painted bumper numbers and lack of a center of the tailgate marking says "Army" to me.
The "high top" HMMWVs with a big circle in the center were some sort of Intel/radar/SIGINT truck. I can't remember the name, but "Pvt. Murphy's Law" cartoon by Mark Baker had one about it. I...
Good luck man. Thank you for all the assistance you have provided here. If it wasn't for you, we'd be a lot grumpier than we are. Seriously, you took some hits and kept on chugging. Thank you!
Well, sure, until you realize that some COTS modified Jeeps did end up overseas and served as military vehicles. https://www.google.com/search?q=HEndrick+Jeep+Army+Military&rlz=1C1CHWA_enUS645US646&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwino6ef0tnRAhXLv1QKHUeqBwUQ_AUICigD&biw=1680&bih=920

I know that we're all going to groan, but we should look at going back to the convoy procedures and prep briefs from when we were in. Break down/recovery plan, comms plan, checkpoints, etc... That way we don't end up having half the convoy stop when one person breaks down.
ETM (Electronic Technical Manual) site through LIW/LOGSA (liw.logsa.army.mil). No account, but accessible means that you can have a copy. Otherwise, distribution restrictions printed on the cover have to be abided by.
Yeah, we probably need to establish comms, and if I'm in the rear again, take down my canvas so vehicles behind can see the lights. Who's got signs? :P
Sorry to hear that Blake can't make it.
You can buy the batteries from Advanced Auto. The brown and black AGM ones. May need to buy a box/bag of acid to fill them as they are not always shipped filled.
I've put them in many trucks that I recovered.
My seat leans forward. So, plenty of room. The entire bench is also on a forward/back slider controlled by a lever under the driver. So, even if yours doesn't flip forward, it should slide forward enough to get access. But, I'd just make sure that the whole thing leans.
The M890 series was used almost exclusively as rear echelon, CONUS, or non-tactical use. Plenty of staff cars and such too. No reason why a Jeep wouldn't end up as a possible vehicle. Especially considering the mechanics probably were better versed on fixing them than other vehicles.
