RE: XM757
Thanks ACE, I'm all set now. The NSN is 2540-00-113-4180 (Model 10530A24).
I have had 4 ea units to work with, two of the correct model. Got one humming and ready to install, but would be nice to have spare parts for the others.
Need one ignitor wick, guess that means the vaporizer...
It may not look like it, but I'm making progress. Every time I take something apart, it turns into a biggie, worked on the fuel burning heater system for a couple of weeks now....
The multifuel is a very efficient engine and the fan does a super job at cooling, the t-stat will open when engine is doing some real work, never at idle or low load conditions.
Remember many diesels are air cooled alone, granted with cooling fins etc,.....the Tatra in a nearby post for example.
RE: Re: Headphones recommendations while driving Duece
I use ear plugs or VIC-1 on the highway, nothing "around town" like to hear the engine better when shifting. The VIC-1 lets me listen in on the CB.
You may lose a couple of psi of pressure across the new filter....
My son replaced the mechanical fuel pump with an electric one in his M37 after the pump leaked gas into the crankcase, so it can certainly be done.
Yeah Ron, the drive shaft between the axles can be (and still is) removed.
I'm a little concerned about the tires and by being able to suspend this axle, I basically have two extra tires in a pinch. Turning radius should be improved with one axle suspended too. May not effect fuel economy much...
Watch that rust! Some microscopic particles got past my filters and casued the fuel plunger to jam in my IP about a year ago, I'm paranoid about that stuff now, thinking about a magnetic type filter to help clean the fuel.
How does your coolant look? My deuce has to work hard to get over 190°F and that's with radiator cover. Rarily over 200.
The voltage can be adjusted to 28 volts. The little white tick mark in the green field is the correct voltage, 28.5 +-0.5 volts.
Thanks for your responses, I'll do some research. It would only be for hwy use, of course.
Monty, I love that truck, it is great to work on, lots of features, zero rust with all the aluminum, better hp to weight ratio of just about any MV (at least w/o a trailer). I have had many systems taken...
When the 8x8 was towed from Oklahoma, we suspended the rearmost axle as shown in image below for a couple of reasons, improve turning and to have spare tires available.
We used a chain after the axle was lifted with the crane.
Question: Is there an accepted method to this with some gizmo that...
Bikini top is great in the Summer. Roll up the back of a soft top and find out for yourself.
Note avatar, bikini top painted white to reflect the sun, works great.
