No PTO on the truck unless it is winched (tranny PTO) or is a contract fuel truck (Transfer case PTO). The trucks did not come standard with a PTO unless there was something there for it to power. Now you can add any PTO you want to these trucks, that's no problem.
That is precisely why have two deuces..well actually three deuces for that same reason. I have a tow bar in each deuce just in case I need to tow one of them.
You know, last year a SS posted a video of this exact thing. He got his deuce stuck in his backyard. He snaked the winch cable over the front bumper, under the truck, on back to a tree some 40 ft behind his truck. His bumper didn't sustain any problems and he was good to go.
'86- No Parking brake light on dash console, no dual circuit brakes
'87-'88- Parking brake light on dash, dual circuit brakes
Your biggest clue is your serial # to your truck.
a 1988 truck will start with 88k
1 1987 truck will start with 87K
You get the point
Outstanding!! I look at it as a good way to keep the weather out of there. Being from the PNW, we get plenty of rain to make our trucks look like Tow Mater:wink:
Both my USAF M35A2C's do not have a rebuild tag on the engine. The gauges appear to be the same color as the rest of the interior. With that, I have concluded that my '88 and '86 still have their original engines. However my '68 does have a Tooele Rebuild as shown by the dataplate. Hmm, now I've...
Now to change the question of the original thread "I wonder how much the lone deuce will go for w/panic buying?" Looks to be either an '86 or pre-'86 USAF dropside
Uh yah Snarky, I was beginning to think about the same thing. I'm just curious, are these rebuilds that are having these troubles or original engines? I know it probably doesn't make any difference but just curious. Plus how many miles did you have on this motor?
Oh man, those pics really bring back memories of my WSU days working on the farm during the summer months. Working 14 hour days making a whopping $5/hr under the table. That good ole manual labor kept me focused on school:wink: Sure wished my boss had a truck like that for me to drive. Instead I...

Need clarification of what is on driver's side, got a pic?
Excellent, nothing like bringing home the first deuce. Both exciting and terrifying at the same time. My first thoughts..."Gosh is this engine going to blow up...why is it so loud". "What is that rub, ping, rattle, and shake" "Oh God please let me make it home!!"
Now I just think "Ok is my truck...
Wow, outstanding looking truck. Looks like you scored pretty good!! I'm glad everything worked out well with very minimal issues. One question for you, when do you and dad go back to get his?
