Yeah, sorry, the other manual number you can't read in my pic, even though I tried is TM 9-4910-784-13&P
OPERATOR AND FIELD MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS TEST AND REPAIR UNIT (HSTRU) NSN 4910-01-5 39-8440 (EIC: HST)
I'm checking LOGSA/ETMs right now.
Sorry, it's still classified as Disto Statement C, if a .mil/.civ/ctr email can be provided I will email it to you.
it is TM 9-4940-468-13, dated 1995
The Holiday Inn in Spring Lake is a good hotel and they have a small outdoor pool, I assume it's open by now, but not sure. I don't know of any hotels in Fayetteville personally.
HEck of a score. the ones with the double axles I saw in Korea with the new ENG company in my old STB. they included the Assault Breacher Vehicles, Bradleys and MICLICs. only ever seen video of them going off. Did see a simulation of one, but it wasn't very impressive.
the tarp only has a bit of adjustment. It's meant to be very tight. But the back flap does have some give (assuming you don't zipper it) and could probably be loosened if you ran some rubber rope like form an LMTV or even just some 550 cord if it's just a bit.
Not sure about your covers, but the LMTV and FMTV/MTV have straps inside the cargo cover that strap it to the bows. They also have straps to hold the sides/front/back in the rolled up configuration (even though I've tried to convince my guys to roll inwards so they don't collect and 'store'...
Yep, just open up the air tanks and let it sit, it'll be noisy, but take about 20-30 min for a full "exhaust" if the system is fully charged. After that, IIRC, actually pump the brakes a few times, open and close your e brake and trailer brake knobs. Make sure you have the truck FULLY chocked...
Stuck valve in the system, IIRC. Check starting at the brake pedal and then all valves. I would also recommend a drain of the system (through normal means) and then refill it.
Reverse of this can happen in the FMTVs where the brakes won't engage due to water in the system that freezes in cold...
Question 4. Yes you can flat tow one LMTV with another. You would want the correct tow bar and air lines run between the two. (there are front gladhands on MTVs)
They are extremely limited, only certain units get them and we have to buy them. they aren't normal MTOE items. A few have come up for sale, but I imagine they haven't made it to EU.
MJ, no idea...
Mj, look forward to the pictures (you can email them to some of the rest of us and we will assist). Sometimes if you don't check "Stay logged in" the server doesn't act right.
