Hello, I noticed when fueling my LMTV there was a lot of hissing when opening the fuel cap. I was also having a very subtle idle surging issue and while reading posts I saw mentioned a clogged vent several times. I did a little digging on the forums and couldn't find any pictures or good...
When I was rummaging through some documentation it seemed like a lot of those had to do with the optional arctic heat system and troop heater. So maybe they end up near the bed?

1. I just bought an M1078A1 w/winch in Puyallup, WA about 3 weeks ago. They come up from time to time in the Seattle and Portland area. I only ever look on Craigslist.
2. Looking at nice winch trucks on Govplanet seems expensive, but I only paid $16500 for mine private party, and it’s...
Yes they do, If Timothy McVeigh had blown up a DMV he’d be an American Hero.
You are reminding me of my battles with the DMV when I lived in CA back in the day.. I bought a personalized plate from them to convey my sentiments. It was a hit with the LEOs, I don’t think they like the dmv either.
Thanks for this post, I just bought a jug of the Stanadyne to try on my truck, my idle isn’t too terrible, but it definitely hunts a bit when it is cold so I will give it a shot!
Nice score! I actually saw this one advertised on Craigslist when I was looking… The red switch is the main power switch. I would flip that off to prevent power drain when not using the truck. On my A1, for example, the light controller remains powered up until I flip that off. When I flip it on...
Would love to see some additional pics of all the tools/accessories. Mine didn’t come with any but I would love to source the correct kit.
congrats on your score!
Funny you should mention this, I had observed the diagram that looked like motorcycle wet clutches and thought maybe they were just glued together from lack of use. So I WD-40ed the lever and went to town around the clutch area with a big rubber mallet.
Drum was still hung up so I hooked the...
Has anyone experienced the situation where their winch will not "free-wheel" ? I have gone through all the troubleshooting TMs for the A0 truck (haven't gotten ahold of A1 TMs yet) and none of them deal with a clutch malfunction. Best I can find is the parts diagram, but I cant really see from...
Thanks for the tip! I have a fleet pride very near to me, so I will call them on Monday thanks!
But in regards to the weights. Is it totally impossible for them to have been manufactured balanced enough to not need a weight?
The reason I ask is, my front drive shaft does have a weight spot...
So I had my wife take the LMTV to a more rural DMV today and they didn’t batt an eye!!! Did the VIN inspection asked how much weight we were hauling and out the door she went with truck plates/registration!!!! “Title is in the mail” they said!!
Guess they didn’t like my ugly mug at the first...
You guys were spot on!! It was a boost leak!
First I tested the diaphragm. I set bench top air compressor to 40psi and then blew air into the wastegate hose as indicated in the attached picture.
Then I gently applied pressure and the wastegate moved smooth, and I heard no air escaping...
