STARTING A NEW BUILD WASTE OF TIME EFFORT AND MONEY

Have to ask the obvious question, is the transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials and axles going to be Upgraded (a lot?) to be able to harness this power?

    Soviet Vehicle Starting

Yea, I had a yak with the air start system. Truly amazing system never once leaked down. got nervous about taking it to a air show and being there overnight if it ever leaked down. So installed an electric starter also just incase. One time after doing some maintenance and being on an extended...

    M1009 Custom Front Bumper Build

I need a picture of your mother, we must be related …haha in making ours we needed it to be smooth on the front because we either tow a 44’ fifth wheel toy hauler or a 12’ camper with our Jeep on a flatbed trailer. So one way or another we are heavy in our travels. And for some reason people...

Nitrogen is fine, watch the pressure. A lot of rusky piston yaks have the same ”air” start type system.

Blown Head Gasket Recovery (no longer) - Massive Engine Failure (!)

And the carbon above the top ring is normal because if you mic out the top of most diesels , above the top ring diameter is normally smaller than below the rings. ( face of the piston gets most of the heat and expands more) which in heat failure (over fueling or cooling issue) there would...

Blown Head Gasket Recovery (no longer) - Massive Engine Failure (!)

Again I have been around Reno racers, (Allisons, Merlin’s, with lots of boost) and tractor pulling. I have to say this is very unique to me for failure of a “stock” engine. But the beauty of a diesel over a “gas” engine is that you can’t melt a piston by going “lean”. Ya can by over fueling...

Blown Head Gasket Recovery (no longer) - Massive Engine Failure (!)

spending some time looking at your photos, it really looks like there was an obstruction in the cylinder. And with it running I don’t think you could put that engine in a laboratory sitting and hydrauliclly lock it up with coolant while in was running at anything above idle RPM. I would start...

Blown Head Gasket Recovery (no longer) - Massive Engine Failure (!)

Aircraft spruce has them in there catalog for $4.40 each when I go to the military shows, meets etc. I can’t believe the people there don’t know about aircraft spruce, any hardware you need, if you call you talk to a real person right away, and free LARGE catalog.

    53” tires

My “53 tires are rated at 14,000 lbs. X6= 84,000 lbs my a3 only weighs about 18,500 after a few mods. I think cruising a little over 55mph is o.k

Blown Head Gasket Recovery (no longer) - Massive Engine Failure (!)

Well sh*t happens, my one concern is that you said “ just left the camp site a couple of minutes earlier “(paraphrasing by me) and I’m sure sure that you gave your power plant a few minutes to warm up. I have friends who will never own diesels again because of problems with them but I have...

California Title and CDL Requirements: M35A2

Half the “fifth wheel” travel trailers or over 10,000 lbs. how many three axle motorhomes or there on California hiways right now? A California “dmv hand book” is not the vehicle code. not saying it’s false, but just sounds a little fishy?

    M35A3 power and speeds mods?

We have had ours for about 8 years. It real nice to have twelve foot two by fours loaded in the back or two pallets of floor tile. We have been to haspin towing our hmvee on the trailer, been to Arizona. We put the front freewheeling hubs on. for speed we put the “53 tires on. Much safer than...

Spare wheel/tire combination for M35A3 with 365s or 395s without getting another M35A3 rim?

Yea, not as tough as use to be. slid the bed back mounted at hand pump crane between the bed and cab. With the tire inside the crane footprint. with the “53 tires there about 390lbs each,
